I'm tying to think of a non-cliche way to shoot a church... lol Maybe I should do it upside down!

I'm going to shoot a backlit angel...the triple whammy ;-)

I am avoiding this one. The only things that are truely sacred to me are not for anyone else to see. Anyway the Backlit challenge is a good excuse to set up my Alien Bees and have some fun.

Backlight is the more interesting challenge, but being reliant on good monitor calibration is never a comfortable thing especially when 'no silhouettes' is spelled out.

Let's just make it a whole new challenge - Backlit Sacred w/ Wings! lol

I was actually thinking of finding an agel monument for that - guess I better think again.

just make sure you shoot it three times!
then you can submit it to all three challenges :)

Why do we keep having challenges like this, "Holy Places, Religion...." What ALWAYS ends up happening is someone shoots something that would be holy/sacred/spiritual to them, but the rest of the voters don't get it, and then there's a fight about it.

Maybe this would be a good way to educate people about other cultures, religions, races, ...
edit: I'll post this verse from my holy book just to answer your question.

" o humankind! we have created you all out of a male and a female, and have made you into nations and tribes, so that you might recognise one another, verily, the noblest of you in the sight of God is one who is most righteous (and just)."

LOL - I think you answered your own question!

Plus, it's easier to get emotion from a shot when people are already feeling something about it before they even see it.

Don't hesitate to jump in. You'll find that there's no shortage of advice here.

Look forward to seeing your entry in the challenge

I could not be any more confused about this challenge than I am right now. I tried tolook up the meaning but that didnt help. I dont see any other challenges like this for ideas.....can anyone help me out with this? just to understand it alittle more?

Well the obvious stuff would be any sort of religious trappings. Altars, idols, whatever.

Capture something sacred. The subject can be either sacred to you or to someone else. It can be a space, a person, emotion, or a thought.

I have something of sacred for me but I am sure that photograps without church, cemetery, altars et similar will be considered dnmc

Well -- I've gone and done it. Entered my first challenge and for some reason I picked this one instead of the backlight one.

Here goes nothing! Not totally happy with the post processing I did, but that's why I came here was to learn, right? (Please someone remind me of this when my first attempt tanks!)
