early morning or late evening? might be enough light for aircraft body, but still dark enough to get most of the thrill of the AB's?

Good luck!

I have many ideas but no time and enthusiasm to shoot them. With my experience with DPC I know at least 3 ribbon shots I already had in mind for long time and someone shot them.

Yep, I was trying to take some city pictures while standing in the back lot of a casino. A security van pulled up and the guard told me that I couldn't take pictures here as it was private property (or maybe it was the loitering). Anyway, he saw what I was trying to shoot and pointed me to a better location on a nearby bridge.

In conclusion, 'The Man' is cool.

I don't know how much afterburner you are trying to get, but you can get some in day light. This was taken at about 1330 and the inside of the burner is very visible. Sure it doesn't have the purple cone sticking out the back, but it is still visible....

well apparently 'spotlighting' a piolet in an armed aircraft is frowned upon in a combat zone :-/
