Lately our photography club has started to dabble in event photography at Uni Balls etc. In a nutshell we have studio lights setup, we take pictures of people who want to purchase a photo, and we print onsite there and then.
Currently we are using a Canon ip6700D printer, with premium grade photo paper, and the prints come out with great quality. However we have noticed that the printer is one of the bottlenecks in our workflow, and as such plan to upgrade the printer (or run another one in parallel).
Looking around, the Canon IP5300 seems to be quite interesting, as it claims 21seconds/6x4" print. I believe the 6700D we have is rated at 47 seconds/6x4" print. Also I came across HP's D7160, which claims 12 seconds/6x4" print.
If we do get another printer, it would most likely be run in parrallel with the existing printer.
1) Are there any other printers which are faster than this? (and prefferably have similar quality to the 6700D)
2) If not, would you reccomend a IP5300, or the D7160?
3) Budget is about $AUD300 (about 250 USD), but again cost:efficiency is the consideration, and wouldn't mind spending a bit less, or a bit more.
Thanks in advance
