Apologies if any of these have already been suggested or done, but here are a couple of ideas I had for challeges.
I thought it would be interesting to see a country life challenge along with a city life challenge. Farms vs. skyscrapers!
Also, a wings challenge would be fun. Anything related to flying; birds, airplanes, insects, etc. (too bad we aren't having one of those now, since I just spent the weekend shooting butterflies at the zoo!)

Those all sound good.
I think it helps (gives your idea a better chance) if you do some of the legwork for the admins with a challenge suggestion, and create one suggestion thread per challenge (one thread works for dual open challenges also like you mentioned here: 'Country Life', 'City Life').
