I thought this would do better but see definite problems with WB.
Do you think that is the main/real problem or was I just too optimistic?

I think it would have done much better if it was portrait rather than landscape.

I think the instrument needs to be more evident. The choice of crop/framing puts the subject a little too on center sapping some of the energy from the moment. The color balance doesn't bother me as much as those things since there's clearly stage lighting...though a little tweak away from the orangey cast might help.

I think compositionally it could have benefited a lot from a different crop, probably moreso than the WB issues.

It's not a bad pic really. Just not a very DPCish pic.

And thanks to those that have replied so far, I didn't really see the cropping as a factor but fresh eyes prevail and I see what you all speak of.
