My POV is a conventional angle to that subject, but I had used a huge lighting effects to shot it, that gives a not conventional look to it. Despite of it, many people had commented not that image, but that the angle, or position is so conventional. I really shot an not conventional view of that subject. The shot itself has many lacks of tech, but is not so conventional. Like jmsetzler says: "... it´s not restricted to extreme camera angles".

After a big comment drive, i am now 65% through the images, and I would like to retract my initial title of it being quite poor.

Seems to be some superb images at the back!! I think this is one of the better challenges for both results and learning.

Must have seen a few dodgy ones and too many trees or something ;)

Completely agree, if you're standing directly infront [pov] and just turn the camera itself, your view point doesn't change, just the angle.

I just got a score of 2 from someone who said I obviously didn't put as much effort in as other people. lol. My POV is quite different but the camera quality was low....but why compare me to others? No biggie, I understand what they meant, my pic didn't merit a 2 however. To each their own....

Comment on Mine! Comment on Mine! :) I've gotten 120 votes and one lonely (but helpful) little comment. Guess there's not much to say about it, but at least it's scoring OK. Suppose that makes up for it :)

Eeekkk! It must have been one of those dodgy ones in the beginning! :-)~
Cheers and good luck to all!

I'm in a weird situation... I have received just over 90 votes and my score is sitting somewhere below 5.5 and I already have 10 comments! Fabulous! Most are commenting on my original idea.

Thanks folks!

I am sitting at a little over 4.5 with only one comment at the moment. Not sure why such low scores, but that the way it goes.

Hey guys I'm sitting at a 5.2 average with 9 comments and this is only me second challenge. I would really like some one to give me a detailed critique on my photo though. Please tell me what you think!

By the way my picture is the one. Would like to hear some feedback!

I agree. The photos seem a little low on the creative side. Too bad the contest closed the day before I joined. I have an interesting POV shot.

Just so you know in teh future, you can't just enter photos that you already have. You have to take the photo the same week as the challenge submission dates, that's part of the rules.

If you have another, different photo not entered in a current, ongoing contest, I'd be happy to comment on it, if you'd feel it would help...

Ok look at the only other one I have on my profile. It was a picture I entered for the New Year Resolution challenge in which I finshed in the hundreds!

Richie, I've send you my comments via PM.

Here are the 2 I was choosing between before I realized times were Eastern and I wouldn't get to submit one at all :( This marks the 3rd time I have managed to sabotage my challenge entry with my own stupidity. The idea was to find a way to illustrate how POV can be used to create dramatic, action photos.

what a pity that is not a rant!

Rants are one of the coolest features of this website, even if frequently misused (being me one of the sinners).

I miss them! ;)

The POV challenge is my first challenge, and i've gotten 10 comments...They're all great (thanks for taking your time to write them), but i wanted to know if you guys thought that a is not creative enough? Most i've seen have been farther away and too busy. So instead i thought of . Someone also suggested not to put in the name because i guess it's too common, but i just got my camera for my 17th b-day...and are very common here on Guam, but no one ever takes the time to capture them...i kick myself every time i see but i don't have my camera...so i just take mental pictures...wish i could share them!!

What score it merits is up to the voters, not you. At least the reason for the vote was explained, most low votes are given with no explanation, and you have no one to complain to about their vote.

Wasn't complaining, I shouldn't have said "i didn't merit a 2" since you are right, everyone's vote is their own I'll give you that and in my opinion, the reason given for a 2 was unmerited. I should have clarified in my last post.

you'll be glad to know I've revised my comment on your photo.

Excellent! Now I'll have a jolly good time strolling through the world skipping and whistling songs in my head..if I can just find room next to all the other nonsense and psychotic babbling going on in there.

*eye twitch*

What is important is that the point of view be EFFECTIVE and APPROPRIATE for the artistic communication. Being extreme has nothing to do with it.

I'm still waiting on a comment from jonpink. I would like to read what you think about my picture even though I kind of have an idea of what you will say.

Thanks for letting me know :). By the way, I took it in the week of the challenge.
