Last minute reshoot turned out to be one minute too late. Went to upload it and got the "A challenge has just ended" screen. =[

Anyways, I'm 0 for 0 so far.

I'm wondering if there's a still life among the challenge entries.

Edit: Just had a look at all the entries ... to my eye, less than 15% would really meet the definition of Still Life. See Wikipedia entry. Going to make voting hard, I think. Expecting lots of low scores.

Oh, and there are a few stunningly great examples ... so have a look and appreciate them when they come by.

Ahhh, I love this place, but have noticed doing something different usually isn't that popular lol

I would say that it can only go up.... but it started at 4.6. I am a little fearful on the ending result!!

Going by wikipedia and the quoted source, it doesn't seem like a very restrictive definition -

i think the wikipedia definition is too vague and broad. as an art teacher, a still life needs to be arranged by the artist. that is part of the art of the still life - the conscious composition of the inanimate, or dead (or at the very least, floral) objects. found compositions are found.

o yeah, and there a whole bunch that aren't still lifes at all. and, a very few truly lovely pieces.

mine's at 5.8. it seems some people aren't too keen on shallow DOF. ah well, 'tis only a game... ;~P

This picture should be around 6.5 - 6.6 It is too early to tell, yet, if (big a..s "IF") this picture goes down 5s, and ends with 5s, I stand by my decission to quit photograpy all together :/

I know one thing though.. it wil NOT go down to 5s... or it will NOT finish in 5s.

I TOTALY REFUSE to believe this will end like this. If so, I probably ask 1st a critique of my picture, and if it comes up ok, I ask 2nd an investigation, asking about possible sabotage of other pictures.

I am very serious, I would like SCs to listen please. I am around for a long time to know about this. and I know there are very nice pictures in this challenge, I don't ask a ribbon or anything like that, I ask justice, that's all.

Relax. Wait until the end of the week until you have a few more than 32 votes before you start getting worried about 'sabotage'
