Those dragons are quick however and they chase me down and munch me. If I had some chain mail i could put the smack down on them.

The secret is to fight them one at a time, at such a low level, its really hard fighting mobs off.

I knew I should have been a big tall strapping character instead of a little tiny wussy guy that shoots fire.

Ha, Im a nightelf warrior, so the tallest and most buffest in the alliance, and I still didnt fight mobs. The best way to fight is to find monsters "on the edge" of crowds, and "pull" them with a ranged attack so they come after you, but the rest of the mob stays put. Fight em one at a time.

Snare, root, kite... snare, root, kite... snare, root, kite... Throw in some damage where you can.

The short guys are hard to target in PvP. Granted people know that short people are squishy... Play a short tank.. it confuses the hell out of people. I guess the same could be said about elf tanks. I've always played short characters, mainly because of the targeting advantage. Squirmy little buggers...

I can only shoot fire and some ice. I don't understand "Snare, root, kite..."

It's not a gamer's game at all. It is without the puzzles, and level design. It is short on strategy too, except deciding which spell to use. If you like interactive fairy tales and a holodeck experience, then it's worth downloading.

Short on strategy?! You are insane. In the early levels, yes. But the whole game is essentially strategy.

From picking your character, to picking jobs, to choosing different specs, its all strategy for end game. Not to mention the intense amount of strategy that goes into some of the higher level quests and dungeons.

I don't have time to play much, but it is a pretty wonderful game design.

isnt DPC here an MMORPG game? omg... i got misled by the advertisement! :p

OMG This is too funny.

well like any conventional MMORPG, DPC allows you to sign up an account, login and interact with other "players", level up in challenges (battles?), get rewarded with items (ribbons), and of course, what MMORPG would be complete without equipment upgrades? hehe

I don't know what level mages get stuff, but you'll get spells that "slow" targets and others that "root" targets... and then you run! Kite = run around without actually running away. For instance.. if you have a DoT (Damage over time) spell, you can cast it on the enemy and run around while the spell does damage. You just don't run so far out of range that the enemy stops chasing you. Run in circles while your enemy is snared with a DoT.. it dies.. you don't get hit.

Its ok to disagree AJ. But here is why the game is not my type.

Im only a level 25, but I know enough so far to see no strategic level design in this game. It is a game that relies on teamwork which is cool, and you have to decide which spells to use in succession to defeat an enemy. Which spell to implement at certain times, but I never feel rewarded when finishing quests, it's tedious and I only play to see its rich enviornments or chat with some friends on there, but thats mainly it.

The game gets really exciting in the 35+ range, and also as soon as you start playing battle grounds (as early as level 11 i believe) The battle grounds pit horde v alliance in a game of capture the flag or defend the flag type scenarios. Tons of strategy neccessary in these.

I became hooked just before Christmas, and this is shocking as ive never played any kind of computer game before, i only tried it out to keep the b/f happy!
Im currently a level 65 Shaman and 33 Druid and really enjoy it, even though im not a hardcore gamer im just plodding my way along enjoying the variety of new places i seem to find everyday!

It is a fantastic game and i do recommend it to anyone, but beware it does get rather addictive!

I rolled a Female Human Warlock the other night, gonna hit level 10 tonite and then just grind to hit 19, and then just camp and work the pvp grounds for a bit.

Most MMORPG's are basically the same. Casting classes never get to wear anything but cloth, because they're usually the big damage dealers. To balance their damage they get weak armor.

Even if they are a gay mage? You think that they would let a gay mage wear a leather g string...
