This thread... Right Here Led me to think of this idea...

For 30 Days in August, You can only photograph a Fork, and it has to be the same fork for every day. Just a regular old four prong Kitchen Fork.

Yes, you can add other elements into the image, you can make it as creative as you desire. This is a creative project, and also one of determination and stamina. I understand stuff goes on in peoples lives, but the challenge is, no matter what happens during your everyday lives, that you need to take time out to capture an image of a Fork. (It is always up to you, if you do this or not, but just remember in the spirit of the challenge, only one image day, no making up days, and no doing days ahead, but what do we know if you do or not, just remember, how much of a challenge is it, if you take 30 images in one day?)

Stipulations;
1. Same fork has to be in every image,
2. Only one image a day,
3. Runs Aug 1st to Aug 30th,
4. Have Fun!!

Who's With Me? Will update this post with names of those who want to join this challenge

You're out of your forkin' mind...

What the fork??

Ok, I'm in. Fork over the signup sheet.

eta: Oddly, the thought of facing the same fork everyday for 30 days is much more appealing to me than 30 days of flowers. :)

edited again to say no offense to the flower children of DPC.

The same fork?!?!

I'd be willing if it were different forks. So I could bend prongs or cut them off and make an illusion, or melt a plastic one for a surreal effect, etc...but the same fork?? Bleh.

edited for spelling

Yeah, maybe lax up on the restrictions. Making up days should be ok - otherwise many people will just quit the first time they miss a day. And any fork should be ok. People should get out of it whatever they want to get out of it based on whatever they want to put into it.

my 2cents anywho.

Like I posted, who's to know what people do behind closed doors, All I am saying, is in the Spirit of the challenge these stipulations should be followed. Also, it is nicer to see only one image per post, than say four five or whatever.

But, on another note.... If people think I am out of my mind right now... wait till ya read this next part....

I will be writing a story, each image will have the next 'chapter' of the story typed within the comments box. I will not write the story ahead of time, each chapter will be created on the same day. The name of the story I will be writing is,
'Freddy's Fingers, and the FORK OF DESTINY'.

Fair enough. Agreed.

That sounds terrific! I had planned to do something similar, so you're mind is as solid as mine. ..sadly. :)

I liked jmsetzler's suggestion a bit better, where you chase one object for the duration of the challenge but not necessarily an object that has been predetermined for you. Frankly the interest level in looking at 50 shots of a fork every day is right up there with voting through a 700 entry challenge.

edit: just my 2 cents, by all means do as you forking please

On the other hand, this is meant to be 'CHALLENGING', what is more challenging than making something as common as a FORK interesting enough for people to look at?

However, the world is your oyster, feel free to create your own side challenge idea (-; This is mine 6-;

lol. not scared. no. I just think the imagination has much more space to roam when using more than just one fork. Otherwise I'll end up breaking a fork right off the bat to do something cool with it and be stuck with a broken fork for 29 days. :P

Ohhh...Maybe I can jsut whittle it down day by day until all I have on day 30 is a sliver of silver. lol 'sliver of silver' There's a title.

I thought of you and this question when I wrote the OP. Thats why I stated a Four-prong kitchen fork. But, if you want to make your normal everyday four-prong fork look like a pitch fork, that is up to you, but it has to be from a normal fork first.

So as long as I do an SP eating with the thing on day one, I won't be DQ'd? Haha - just kidding. I have real kitchen forks here somewhere. Let me see... plastic, plastic, snakes tongue, fork in the road, wait-- AHA! Ok, I'm good.
