Hard to recall why I did it.
On the seagull, maybe I was trying to get a smoother water surface with the slow shutter speed. For the sandpiper, it was a bright, but slightly overcast day, and I think I was trying to get a deeper DOF to catch the waves, too. Taken within minutes of this challenge entry:
Or maybe it was a mistake. Using my tripod or monopod would have helped.

Bt using ND and CPL filters you can dramaticly slow the shutter speedeven with wide open lens ! |

I hate the vignetting I get when I put the filter adapter on my C-750 (and the C-700 before that). Now I want a Minolta A-1, so I can go back to filters!

We took these shots at the Texas State Fair last year.
They had a "Birds Of America" show on the fair grounds and he came flying out of a cage they hoisted to the top of the arena with a large crane.
It was amazing. His wing span is like 10' I do believe.
This was taken at the Dallas Zoo:

I have a bunch of birds in my album, shot with my Oly 750UZ with TCON17, but have not much info on their ID. Since you're all birders... maybe you can help me out? ;)
Album here:
