i think disappointment is natural. but you never know when and where that door of opportunity will open. there's a reason why things do or do not happen. keep your chin up and keep plugging along...that door WILL open.

all who interviewed, we need to be proud that we got the interview and what a great learning experience. now we know what to do and/or not to do next time.

i think the mix on the show will be very interesting...blending the levels of varying levels of experience along with trying to find the right personalities for good TV. personally, while i told dean that i would win if i was on the show (lol!), i can't imagine being on the show with him. it would definitely be the amateur against the pro (whether he thinks so or not). my best guess is that the show will end up geared more towards "semi-pros" competing against one another.

escapetooz,
you have some mad talent and you're so young. and...beautiful too. hang in there. your time will come. there's always next year ;-), if the show does well.

Just to update... I did not receive a call this week from them, nor an email, nor a poopbomb.... so I guess I'm relieved from waiting by the phone. :)

I am gonna write a letter to that PIMP to let him know he made an error in judgment by not hooking up my Homies! Punk ass PIMP!

LOL. Thanks Erick!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I wasn't super bummed, it was a momentary thing mostly because the whole time I was pretending not to care (even with myself) but after the interview I was pretty proud of myself and had some hope (hope is the thing I was trying to avoid) and then of course when there is hope there is always a let down.

My pursuit of photography has not wavered. I always question my photos and my talent, it's just the way I am and it's not on account of the PIMP. lol.

Oh well, I'm kinda relieved that I still don't have a reason to watch VH1 :-)

Anyone know when this show will air? I don't watch VH1 enough to keep tabs on it? I know they start shooting soon or maybe they already have.

"Click" is supposed to debut "in the fall", that's all I can find out.

I was thinking the other day how cool a show like this would be. They should have Joey Lawrence act as producer ;).

Does anyone know if it will be airing in Canada?
I think it would be cool to watch...even if the whole show isn't made up of DPCers.

This is a long busy thread. Can anyone who is familiar with it post a condensed version of what's happened so far for us slow people down south?

Uh bunch of people applied, some got interviews, one said he was accepted and then said he couldn't say any more, everyone else got rejection letters/responses/whatever.

::crickets:: since then.

Thanks for the update, wavelength.
I appeared in an episode of Junk Yard Wars, and it was a hoot, all the way. They paid expenses, and enough to have some for kicking around in London for a little while.

Junkyard Wars Online site

Interview with the details

It was aired first Jan 2,000, and as recently as a couple of months ago here on Discovery or History Channel. A couple of people told me that they saw it recently.

google "Bazookey" for the BBQ tv link to see vid of that machine launching watermelons last Jan 1st. It is the machine that got me into JYWars.

My next adventure is that I am going to Mexico next month and be on a support/pit crew for one of the teams in the Baja 1,000 race. One of my punkin chunkin pals is driving in it, and invited me along for pics and to help out if needed, expenses paid.
I love traveling. I was terrifically bummed about not being able to make the Fl Keys GTG, but could not do that and Mexico too.

Here is on YouTube.

That's really fun, Waddy! My wife would shake her head and say things like "Boys!" but I get it 100%. And I love the idea of tossing melons out of planes. Are you a private pilot? I am, although I've had one flight in the past 4 years.

Thatis great I remeber that one! Have fun in Baja!
:-)

Thanks, y'all.
I'm not a pilot, but do have some tail dragger time in a J3. My son is, so I go up with him sometimes.
Dropping the melons is not exactly legal, and we quit after a few games of "redneck roullette" (" Hey,,, I Got IT!!!" ) LOL.

Der I get it "MelonMusketeer"! LOL :-D

Looks like they've changed the name to The Shot. Still can't figure out when it starts though. Just caught a glimpse of the commercial tonight.

Edit: Guess I should've looked a little harder ... Nov. 4

Just saw a sneak peek, a quick little promo spot. It looks interesting, although much like any other reality show around these days. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out on TV. Not sure if it will grab the attention of non-photographers.
