I actually liked the shots from episode 6. I was impressed that she came in with a concept then threw it out and went another direction after talking to the client. The pictures she produced were a whole lot more interesting, too.

I can't believe John made it through to another round! Jason had the better photograph at the airport. Now, unless the paparazzi shoot was considered for elimination, then yes, Jason would have deserved to be removed.

Dean ( DeeRiot)--congratulations on the photo that is to appear in Marie Claire in January! At this point, I'm thinking you'll take first place with Maria being the runner-up.

I think the reason that Jason was eliminated was that the shots were about the same (though I did prefer Jasons) but that John has been actively learning and improving as the contest has progressed. Jason was continuously making the same mistakes over and over by focusing too much on the design aspect. He was told this time and again but continued to fall into the same pattern. I think it was his undoing.

IMHO John should have been eliminated.

The confident Dean was back and it showed in his shots. I'll second AperturePrioritys congrats on the photo being chosen to appear in Marie Claire. Great shot!

Nah, I like john, some of his shots are really good, but Jason overthinks it and has to be critizized it every week and theres no reason to be there if hes not going to listen to critique.

And you know what, I'm going to buy an issue of Marie claire [in january] from the local cafe and I'm going to find dean's image and post it on my wall for inspiration ^_^ Tis a Good job this week =D

I was glad that Dean took the runway shot. IMO it was an obvious choice. when you have such beautiful open straight lines, use them.

His shot totally kicked ass and I was siked when they said they were using it in Marie Claire. On a side note it was funny that Jason thought it sucked. Man....talk about overthinking and missing the obvious.

When Jason said Dean looked like he failed miserably I was like "Noooooo!" and when Jason went home I was like "ha....haha.....ha."

I'd like to be able to shoot on a planes runway w/o the fear I might get hit by a plane or excorted off the premises XD

If you ask me, I think that what Jason said about Dean failing miserably was probably in reference to something else. If you notice, it's Jason's narrative--you never actually heard/saw him say it when actually looking at Dean's photos.

Remember, this is a television show. They will edit and mix things up to spur controversy and emotion, which makes for good T.V.

Another observation from the show...when Jason was reading the notes from his wife (when wearing the hoodie), either he weeps in a very unique fashion, or he was faking it. To me, it just didn't seem natural.

At any rate, I would have prefered Jason to stay on and John to go home. By the way, what's with John's cheesy smile? It's like he grits his teeth when he smiles and laughs--not really a "Hollywood" smile. I wonder how that got past the auditioners?

Just my $0.02 worth. Carry on...

hmmm You're probably right, maybe jason said Dean failed miserably at like...monopoly or something =/

Jason's entire attitude from the beginning has been consistent; he expressed a sense of entitlement and a sense of holier-than-thou, and he refused to respond to constructive criticism, even though the same point was hammered home over and over again. You watch him runnign around setting up that shot of his and you have to ask yourself "Can you even IMAGINE this guy being turned loose with a gaggle of art directors and a bunch of high-priced talent?"

Getting rid of him was a no-brainer. Of the final four, he is by far the least likely to succeed in the real world as a photographer.

I agree with you but I have to say that John looked like a Chicken running around without a head, as well. I'd be paniced if I saw my photographer bouncing around like that.

Agreed. He's the next to go, unless he really really steps up in the next challenge. But between Jason and John, John has shown a lot more humility, a lot more willingness to listen and learn. Which is why he got to stick around.

That was awesome... Dean's turn comes around, and I'm telling my wife that he should put her out on the runway. We literally cheered when he took her out there.

Infact, the first thing that came to mind was this from Larus:

Brilliant shot, Dean. Worthy of the Ad. :O)

I was thinking about tossing some images out on The Shot Spot, but I got lost in the legalize of the user agreement. I can understand VH1 retaining rights to use the image in the site and in promotions etc., but does it actually say they have exclusive right to sell the image to third parties?

I was informed by John Boone on Flickr that apparently, some things on the first episode were over lapped into the 3rd episode by editors. =o

When you get long straight lines like that...use them.

Based upon the four photos, I thought John was probably going home as well, but was very happy to have him stick around for another week if only to provide a little dig to Jason.

Jason just over thinks and tries too hard (about everything, not just his photographs). He may be a great guy in person, but comes across as a very contrived individual on the show. His little snobby crack about wedding photographers didn't help my opinion of him either.

Dean is probably the easy choice to win at this point, talent plus a good grasp of technicals. Maria could easily pull a dark horse win, though. I think her rapport with subjects, humility, and real joy for the work will serve her very well in her career. Dean is on the top of his game, but Maria is close to matching him and is still putting her game together.

It's all good. Jason and Dean have gotten together off-screen to collaborate on this site.

Their contact info lists them around my area, just down the road in San Pedro (southern California).

I'm glad Jason's gone... he's just so overly-confident that he's clueless sometimes. I didn't like John's image this week, but I think he shows more potential to learn.... Jason's gonna do what he's gonna do, whether clients/models/judges like it or not... because to him, it's always the best because it's his.

The more I see of Dean, the better I like him. I really hope he wins!
