Sure looks a lot better here than anything she produced in the show, except the water shot...

Agreed! I really wish there had been some sort of "this is what we were looking for..." after everything was said and done. They don't do a very good job of educating their photographers as to what they are looking for. I kept thinking what the heck do they want? They clearly had some kind of expectation in mind.

I think the whole point is they DON'T give these explicit instructions. They want to see who's capable of figuring it out for themselves,w hat will work best.

I have to say that her stuff on flickr is definitely NOT the same caliber of work that she has on her personal website and myspace, at all. Things like that make me say, "Hmmmmmmm..."

To change the subject a bit, Robin came off as a bit of a photography snob last night. I suppose it could be frustrating to work with someone you think is way below you skill wise, but Piper definitely came off with better shots then Robin did regardless of what she knows.

The hair challenge was a bit of a joke. You think they could've come up a better idea to use that killer set-up rather then to shoot pretty hair with trampolines and fans. I surely didn't get it.

I think it was sad what they came up with for the challenge. Nobody even focused on making the hair beautiful.

but seriously, how fun would it be to play with that camera set up? 90 camers like that could make for some awesome cahllenge entries. Oh wait, they would only be usable in expert editing and we don't get to do those enough!

Next expert editing challenge I think I am going to try set something like that up ith just two cameras. Oh damn, the resolution is different. guess I need to go shopping!

I'm glad Piper is gone too, but who thinks that the judges simply chose her team as the worst just so they could send her home? Not that there was any clear advantage between the teams - everybody's images sucked and they all pretty much looked (and sucked) the same.

I disagree. I think both teams failed to execute the assignment, which is what the judges said of course, but Piper's team came in significantly behind the other team in the aesthetics department as well.

I don't particularly like Piper, but I don't think she should have been sent home last night. She had best photo from the underwater challenge last week, kicked butt in the Teach challenge this week, and her campaign photo was at least half-good. Robin should have been eliminated -- her campaign photo was bad overall, her technique was bad for the Teach challenge, and she has a crappy attitude.

For the sake of entertainment I thought they'd keep her on longer, she did afterall use the word "sabotage" at one point to describe her teammates, lol.

Not sure if I like Robin's portfolio that much either.. //www.robinperine.com/

Yeah, but did you hear the judges discussing her while all the photogs were out of the room? The female judge said that she would have a very hard time working with Piper in a real shoot. They other judges agreed.

Besides not really liking Piper or her work, I am glad to see her go for the mere fact that the show didn’t keep her on for entertainment purposes. Added a slight notch of credibility to the show (IMO). Overall, I’m not totally impressed with the show though, or the work coming out of it.

Valid point -- I have to remember that the show is not entirely decided on the best photographs, but that they have to take interpersonal skills and efficacy into account since this person will become a professionally-paid photographer.

Right; the end result is to turn the winner loose on Victoria's Secret for a catalogue shoot. No way they could foist Piper off on them, she doesn't have the team spirit and motivational ability required for work like that.

Ya know, I was thinking the same thing. I can understand the fans, but the tramps were too much

Personally, I don't think the judges could have waited any longer to boot Piper with their current judging set up. She's become a detriment to any team that she's on.

She's an odd bird, that one.

Yay!!!!! Piper is gone!

I've noticed that lately they are showing the photogs controlling the lighting and such more. I wonder if they are just showing more or if they are actually teaching them to use the stuff off-camera?

That's exactly what I was thinking at the end of the show, Mark. When I was waiting to hear who was going home, I was sure it wasn't going to be Piper since she was creating so much drama and tension for the show. The fact that she left gave me hope that they care more about actual photographic ability at this point than in just facilitating catfights.

Awesome. I'm really looking forward to hearing about the experience. I've never known anybody that was on TV before...well there was that one Jerry Springer episode.

Hey Dean,
I'm really looking forward to hearing your behind-the-scenes insights from a contestant's point of view. Can you comment on any of the episodes that have already aired? I don't have any specific questions at the moment, but if you want to chime in on anything we have already seen on TV, we would love to hear it!
