Day 3: Pain...

without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

Some see a glass as half empty, some half full. But often we overlook a glass that is full or one that is empty.

hey guys, Roz left me a comment that made me say "What?!" I mean I know she's an aussie, but I have no clue what she was saying. Any help?

"...i was wearing a singlet, a spencer and a jumper and trackies coz the temp at home was 15 degrees celsius..."

I think trackies are tennis shoes, but other than that I'm lost, lol.
Also, how much is 15 and 21 degrees celsius?

Day 3 - Downtown LA Mural

The building to the left is on older office building that is now part of the "loft conversion" craze.

Singlet and spencer are items of underwear (like T-shirt and camisole. Spencer is woman's wear), a jumper is a sweater, and trackies is a tracksuit. Roz is obviously sensitive to cold, as 15 degrees isn't all that cold (sorry, no idea what it is in Fahrenheidt, which never made sense to me - I'm so glad Australia went metric when I was in 2nd grade).

day 3:

oh and btw i am totally ignoring the 'square crop' rule. square cropped images just don't look right to my eye.

Are we allowed to do that? I hate square crops for most photos. As of tomorrow, I am with you in the revolt!

I'll try to adjust my script. Don't know how yet, but that's someting for tomorrow.

If it is going to mess with the script, I will stay with the square crop. Most of the stuff I am going to do for this side challenge will not matter much anyway.

To be honest, it's an awfull shell-script. (lots of sed/grep/awk)

Main problem: how can I tell css to adjust an image to max 120x120, but keep the proportions? Just PM me, I think this thread should be for the photos.

July 3 - Haying Season

I had a tough time posting this one today. I thought it might do well in the landscape challenge, but I promised myself no challenges until next month. Need to get back to just taking pictures for me, not for challenges.

I agree completely. The square crop is a technique unto itself. That is why few people do it, and why dp even had a challenge specifically called square crop. It definitely takes a certain eye to create a nice square crop and not all images lend themselves to it. I will keep with the square crop, only to develop my eye better, but there are times when it gets very frustrating.

I know I won't get a chance to take any pictures let alone post tomorrow, so I'm posting ONE ahead of time :)
Happy Early 4th of July!
