YAY! i even bought a new dress shirt to go with my suit and it looks sharp! i cant wait... im also going to try to take some pictures of Ottawa, but i think i will be busy...

but in short... WOOOT, im on a buisness trip!
btw its all paid for... the $1300 Ticket, the hotel, the taxi fares, even the dry cleaning. im happy.

I remember my first business trip ... Ohio to California a week after starting my first real (corporate) job. Even got bumped to first class on the trip home ... talk about being set up for disappointment, haha. Actually, I've enjoyed all my business trips, but I only go places once every year or two. Start traveling all the time and it will get old fast.

Yeah, no kidding... For a while there I was on the road maybe 20 weeks of the year, and it starts to get to ya...

Oh, and congrats Weegi! Have fun! The difference is, I worked for myself, so "all expenses paid" meant I had to pay them myself, which does make a difference...

Pretty much everyone I know who travels a lot for work hates it after a while. I know some people who spend more time in hotels than at home. I can take about a week, maybe two before I start getting ornery.

Personally, I don't travel that much for business and a lot of the places I've been sent, I wouldn't care to go back. A lot of those trips involved clamoring around in hot, dirty warehouses and/or factories. No fun in that. There have been some exceptions: I got sent to Vegas to inspect a container shipment and the freight company "misplaced" the container so I spent a week in Vegas with nothing much to do. I've also been to Europe a few times and that has certainly been a learning experience each time.

Cool! Ottawa is beautiful even if you are there on business.

I always travel with my partner when he goes on business, we usually extend our stay a bit and make a mini vacation out of it (a cheap way to vacation since we don't pay for airfare and only have to pay for the hotel and meals on the extra days). Since he started with the company he's working for (in 2000) we've gone to Ottawa 6 or 7 times, Toronto, Prince Edward Island 3 times, Fredericton, NB 2 times, Moncton, NB, Edmonton, Quebec City and Washington DC.
