I might want to carpool with someone if at all possible because I have a weird vacation weekend with my parents and I'll be coming from Chester to pt. reyes, but I live near San Mateo, so it's a slight issue. However, if nobody can I'll just take my car up and back down, not a huge deal, just inconvenient.

I live in Cupertino (zip code 95014), I have seats available. PM me if you want more detail.

Thank you! PMed you

If we're going to have a potluck picnic, maybe we'd better sign up for what to bring just to be sure we have all of our bases covered. Any objections? People should probably bring enough of a single item to feed about 15. If you have special dietary needs, then please just bring what you need to feed yourself -- no one will mind! :-)

Here's a list of what I think we'll need -- please let me know if I should add anything:

Drinks
Plates, utensils, napkins
Meat entrees
Vegetarian entrees
Fruit
Vegetables
Chips/Appetizers
White and gold reflectors
Lots of AA batteries

Anything else? Check the OP to see who's bringing what and let me know if you'd like to sign up for something. Thanks!

I'll bring a vegetable/pasta salad.

Um, I gotta ask: what are the gold and white reflectors going to be used for at the pot luck?
:-))

What, you don't care about the AA batteries?

I'll bring an appetizer of some type - maybe a tray of veggies.

Given some of the posts it's worth repeating that old adage again... You don't make friends with salad. ;)

When all have checked in on the potluck..if we need more meat entrees...I can pick something up at the deli on the way. Just let me know if you think we need it.

Ha Ha, I do with the one I'm bringing. It's a SFAlice Original. And pretty darn tasty and will be until I run out of the dried oregano I brought back from Sicily a few years ago.

I just recently experimented with a curried chicken salad recipe off of the web that turned out pretty good. Anyone interested? It's got celery, apples, pecans, raisins, mayo (I could make it Light if anyone cares), cayenne and black pepper (and of course, chicken).

Yummy...I like curried chicken salad. Pecans and raisins sound good! I make mine with slivered almonds and currants.

Sounds like someday we should do an in-studio GTG potluck to do food shots -- then eat the props.

Here's an early morning bump for those who haven't been seeing all of my nighttime posts. If anyone else would like to sign up to bring an item to the potluck picnic, please let me know. I think we have most of the bases covered, but there's always room for more of any particular item. (Note that all salads must be pre-approved by TechnoShroom for friendliness.)

Speaking of which, I don't have you on the list of attendees, Len. Will you be able to make it on Sunday?

lol ... but I rarely make friends with things I'm planning to eat, anyway. Sign me up for two salad-type things (one from CrazyStripesss), so we can improve our chances of making friends!

I usually screw up when it comes to pot-lucks, and the wife might not show (but I'm gonna pull out the cattle prod). I was thinking about picking up a big bucket of fried chicken. Would that work?

Anyone else need to organize a carpool? We can also carpool to the various locations after lunch from the visitor's center. I'm sure that groups of people will be popping in an out throughout the day, so it should be no problem to get from any location back to the visitor's center.

I'll be coming from a camping trip, but I should be able to bring some kind of BBQ or fish (if we catch any) or I might just bring chips.
In other words...It's a suprise :D

Can't wait to see you all on sunday. just so you know, I won't get any reception of any kind where I'm going OR internet :( so don't bother PMing me at all. Williams88 has my number in case I'm late or something. See you then!

Wow, this sounds like it'll be loads of fun! But while I've been followig the thread and hoping I could make it, it looks like I'll have to be heading to Washington for the weekend to unpack our stuff into our new (temporary) home. :( Just found out yesterday that our things get there on Friday and spent the day trying to figure out flight arrangements.

Hopefully, I'll be able to schedule a trip to my folks house here in Marysville around the next one so I can take a little sidetrip. :)

Have fun everyone!! :)

That's too bad, Jennifer. I'll sadly remove you from the list -- snif.

Good luck with the move!
