My spyder kicks ass ! Before spyder I would always seem to get a "tint" on my prints. I tried different paper, ink etc... I thought the printer was broke blah blah blah....

....the shots looked great on my monitor but prints came out "tinted".
At times, some on this site would says my shot looks "dull" or "dark", even though It looked nice on my monitor. Spyder fixed all of that.

It is very easy to use. I would recommned not using the printer software "printfix" that comes with it. I could never figure it out and seems I don't even need it.

I know spider is a calibration program but how does it work. I need a something other than adobe calibration. Do you have a link?

It's a pretty big subject area - you can start here to get some basic info.

I use Spyder - a must have for printing.

Here is a review...Spyder

Basically a device about as big as your fist that hangs on the front of your monitor while calibrating.

Now that looks great. A bit pricey unless the express ($79) would work ok. I believe it would since I don't print photographs at home. I have them printed elsewhere.

You can offset the cost by printing at labs that offer no color correction, such as bayphoto.com.

I have the syder pro and it works great. I usually save a few bucks on prints now that I don't need any adjustments.

Its well worth it even if you can't offset the cost, at least your photos will look right.
