I am going to be shooting at a festival in Santa Cruz on the 24th, and there are going to be an expected 13000 people, if its anything like last years. I am going to have my own booth, with a custom backdrop for the festival and basically what I want to do is to be able to offer to get a quick 8x10 of them and their family/friends at the festival.

So heres the question:

Whats the best way to do this, and more importantly, fastest? Lets say I get about 500 people/customers during this, what means are there to produce 8x10s that fast, or should I just offer CD only and bring my laptop and close shooting early to burn them all, then have them come back later for them?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Some puerto rican festival that I know nothing about, other than I can make a lot of money if I do this. Haha.

I have absolutely no clue at all, but here's a suggestion - bring the laptop, a reliable printer and spare ink (probably lots of that), paper, several memory cards, and an assistant. You can shoot a family, hand the card to the assistant, plug in a new card, shoot another family. In the mean time, the assistant can load the picture, do quick autolevels, autocolor, sharpen, crop, then print. The families can pick up and pay within a few minutes of the shoot.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Anything preventing you from having multiple printers? I would have backup printers at the ready anyway but if you have available juice (which is sometimes a problem with fairs) I would run the backups as well.

I'd take the money, shoot tethered, and tell them to come back in 30 minutes. While this is going on have the assistant do any corrections and send it to the printer. As the prints come out the assistant can package them (folio, envelope, or whatever you have planned), attach a copy of the receipt, and file them.

Do you HAVE a really good printer? Any suggestions on good printers for doing something like that?

Multiple laptop/printers, and as many assistants (who know how to edit, just in case it's needed) as you can force to go with you!
