One of my favorites from L2 for the beautiful model, lighting, pose, portrait, capture, people, female, human, expression. And L2 has answered some questions for me before, thank you for your help L2.

Because I appreciate them all, I'm posting images at about 2 a day in random order for Site Council folk...

Today, it's
Justine...

Sure beats photos of Cars and Bikes! Engineering standards of humanity? Maybe, maybe not, but this is a rare shot you can only get large files of on NASA.com.

3 miles is the closest you can get to this baby and Alan did a good job here.

L2
I hope this wasn't taken on a bad first date?

Muck

mk... I looked at your stuff last week and I missed this one. This is a really nice, a pure, unaffected shot and we don't see many of those. With so many images, photographers tend to leave their finger prints all over the place (in terms of PP or whatever, myself included) this image speaks for itself.

I feel an Ursula Phase II, stirring in my bones. No gimmicks. No Glycerine. The real thing. Don't think I can negotiate the precipice at the moment...too busy. Maybe when I get back from vacation. I'll need the rest and a right frame of mind.

dsidwell-This shot makes me want to burst into the nearest Church and start begging for forgiveness.

Thanks, Anthony! I must say I still get goosebumps when watching the launches, like the one on Friday (especially since it was Atlantis).

On the press tour the day prior to the launch, we were allowed to walk literally within a couple hundred feet of the launch platform. That was pre-9/11, so I'm curious as to what they allow photographers to do nowadays. It was an incredible experience!

This is the vantage point where I was able to take that shot:

karmat, who's sweet and patient and kind:

GeneralE, who's creativity often goes very much undernoticed:

And this one from ClubJuggle because it seems to me to be very much in keeping with his personality. (And props for the MS work, too!)

I seem to favour Ursula and Sher most strongly (in terms of their images) but have a smattering of other SC members also in my Favourites.

Regardless of whether I happen to love one or more of their images, I am really appreciative of the work they do to keep this site running...

THANK YOU, SC!

Here are some:

And I have a few more from Ursula and Sher in my Favourites too!!!

I must geto down to florida before they retire these shuttles in 2010. It would be great to capture the ISS and Atlantis docking with my telescope today, I'll try to get the coordinates.

Alan do you know why the Russian Soyuz craft launches without all this smoke? We use the same propellant.

:-D

Site Council? We have a Site Council?

I always thought those people with funny avatars were the complaint department. Speaking of complaining I think this thread should be locked. It is discriminatory against those of us who add nothing to the site and still never get any recognition.

And who the heck is Ursula Rocks?

P.S. - Ok, thanks for all you do. Happy now?

This is one of Ursula's, a long time favorite of mine:

and one from Scalvert, a gorgeous shot:

Appreciate everything that all of ya'll do, thank you so much.

Appreciating Frisca...

...a peacekeeper who looks for the beauty in everything,
focuses on the important things,
lets the rest fade into shades of bokeh,
sees the unity in nature
and the nature in humans...

For a while, I was just going to post one or two "thank yous" a day in appreciation to the Site Council. But hey, maybe more is better - so, many thanks gang, for all you do!

mk adjudicator extroadinaire..
manic who proves you can do anything with a S40...
ClubJuggle who does nice things for the site and for charity
sher...thanks,Sher for everything you do...
Konador who was once just a bright kid in Iceland-I-mean-England (well, he could be Icelandic, he's that good!)...
alanfreed the well known wildlife photographer
Ursula who is everywhere, especially when you need her [thumb]150113[/thumb]
frisca Just like Ursula, nice lady
scalvertanother one of those reliable folk

And finally, I started with a SC member I've met (Kirbic) so I'll end with another Site Council member I've met - and if the rest are as good as GeneralE, and I think they are, this is one terrific group of people. The title of this one is "Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed"
