You beat me to it.

To add one more in this thread: (and will come back to add more later), Though scalvert 's amazing ribbon-factory holds an amazing amount of favorites by members of this site, there is a moment in Shannon's life, that for a mere 1/13 of a second, froze time in a way that I find truly amazing. (sorry about the froze pun thing there)

Life
1/13th of a second at a time.
Your best to date in my opinion.

Kudos to all Site Council Members!
Two of them I know a little better.
And to know them is to love them.

Snaps to all SC!

I have to say ursula and scalvert both ROCK! and inspire me to try different things when it comes to photography.

Thank you guys soooo much! Love you all, especially the ones who started it all ;)

I will have to say that ursula, whom I met last weekend at the Oregon GTG, something with her style, and the way she looks at her surroundings inspired me to look a lot more beyond my simple sight, and further than my lens. The way she held her camera, and the things she looked at and shot really forced this into my understanding of this craft. Thank you Ursula, you are a very centered being in this chaotic world we live. It was an honor meeting you and breaking bread at your campsite...

Ursula and Shannon are, indeed, a couple of sweethearts! as are all the Site Council members with which i serve. they are a group of immensely talented and fiercely passionate artists and i consider myself very lucky and very honored to serve this site with such a wonderful group of people.

Since I appreciate 'em all, I'm just going to post one or two Site Council images a day for a while.
Today's picks - another pair of unsung heros:

nshapiro..

and the legendary karmat...

I have so many faves. But the most recent fave would be this one from MK
An awesome portait which I felt was underrated in the recent free study. It's so natural.

Reminded me of one of my favorite portrait photographer's work Nikola Borissov.

GeneralE

You really march to your own drum don't you?? ;)
Your portfolio is quite the mishmash of different things :)
I love this photo the most!! It makes me warm and fuzzy...

I love the Site Council. I have made errors in the creation of decadent art and comments that do not serve the Site. I deserved every lash I received from mk's camera strap.

Now, can I have my kittens back?

06/08/2007 11:12:56 PM · #93
This is the first of GeneralE photos that caught my attention way back when

I still love it

oops I forgot something. I hereby condemn yanko for his seditious comments. He has been "reading into" photos and putting his own interpretations on them instead of simply absorbing their messages like a productive Site member.

I am looking forward to the return of my kittens.

and just about everything from this collection.
nshapirois my abstract hero!

Yeah, SC are pretty cool. Let's put it this way, if I had a choice of hanging out with the SC folks, or a herd of Llamas...I'd probably pick Sc.....and that my friend, is a HUGE compliment ;-P

Hey, I have a motto to go with the festivities of DPC Site Council Appreciation Month---- "SC- they're better than a sharp stick in the eye!!!"

SC Gang- simply and sincerely- Thank-you. :-)

ps.- Bruce says thanks too ;-)

We're here to help. You probably have two thumbs.

Thanks everybody! We really appreciate being appreciated by those we appreciate. I'd also like to give a shout out to former SC... with sincere thanks to Kiwiness, Heida, EddyG, Gordon, timj351, jmsetzler, blemt, Magnetic9999, KarenB and any other early volunteers who helped make DPC what it is today! :-)

and sometimes, I'm ALL thumbs! :-P

...ok, enough of this silliness, back to appreciating SC...NOW people!

Looking through some of the SC's portfolios a few jumped out at me.

nshapiro

Not the type of shot I normally associate with Neil but it's memorable.

mk

For some reason I associate mk with this photo. I picture her behind the door with a butcher knife and brussel sprouts hence why nobody is opening the door.

manic

Just came across this. Coolness.

GeneralE

This one has been growing on me.

ClubJuggle

Ok this jumped out because it has to do with the Yankees. Although reading your comments it's apparent you didn't cheer hard enough for them to win. >:

justine

Any photo of hot dog franks that scores over a 6 with 5+ favs has got get more props.

Btw, how many browie points do I get for this? I may wish to cash them in to boot Don off the site. :P

I just saw this thread. I also want to thank all the SC members for all they do. I've been scarce around here for awhile due to issues that just keep piling up on me, and thank them for picking up my slack. I love these people, they are like family to me.
Thanks to those who posted some of my pics in here as well. After one hell of an aweful week, it made me smile. Thanks so much guys.
