no it's not that. it just seems odd that you listed 2 or 3 main problems with all the entries, perhaps you were too hasty? Not trying to be offensive, I appreciate your opinion and like your work. |

I was just generalising...but many of my comments included much more than any of those issues. Some people said they saw too many spring flower shots...I was just saying what I saw...that is all. |

not a problem. my response was pretty lighthearted. I know generally on this site more contrast is desired, I comment on it all the time too. For my image I made it more contrasty than I liked for my portfolio and still got a comment that it wasn't enough. Just thought it was kind of funny. |

Please, please, Please don't do that! I get so many comments that I know many people here would complain about, but I love them!!! I know that my photography is still not that good and all of those comments that focus on the errors in my photos are what has helped me to progress to this point.
I still have a very long way to go and I need those comments!!! I wish everyone would keep their big mouths shut and appreciate the time it takes to comment on 616 pictures. Especially with comments that really focus on the technique and composition of the photos.
If people are so insecure that they can't hear someone else's comment on their picture, then I dare say, maybe this isn't the site for them. There are many sites that will stroke their ego.
I would venture further to say that of the over 600 people who received your comments, more people probably appreciated them than the few who are just more vocal on the forums. Even if 60 people couldn't stand up to it (and I definitely don't see that many people posting complaints here) that is only 10 percent...The other 90% are probably excited to get some comments that are helpful and offer areas in which to improve.
So, please continue to post comments for the 90% of us who may not be vocal enough to step up in the forums, but who definitely appreciate the effort you go through to provide insight into what would make a better photo and therefore make us a better photographer. |

Thankyou Julie....this thread might actually be of interest....it is along the same lines as what you said.
I know some people don't think I do anything here except cause trouble...so I did this to show people that I do try to be helpful...I thought I had proven that in the past...but obviously not enough.
So lets see if those whingers have what it takes.

Oh man, having over 7 at 58 votes the dropping to 6.5 must hurt.. I know mine is continually going between 6.9 & 7.1 and the agony is too much.. just something over 7 would be nice to firm up that top 20 positioning.

I was at an 8.2 after around 22 votes and the I dropped down to a lousy, rotten, stinkin 7.2 very quickly. I thought I was still in contention for a minute but my subject is on the DPC "no, no" hit list so I'll take what I can get.
If I ever dream of ribbons I'll need to be more user friendly but that's not going to happen.
