It's a Yellowish mayonnaise-'like' substance that tastes like it sounds... :@)

Hmm... I thought you meant salad dressing aka Miracle Whip. When I was a kid I thought mayo was disgusting so I only ever had sandwiches made with Miracle Whip. Now it's mayo only.

I dunno, we don't have Miracle Whip here...(by the sounds of it...I'd stay well clear of it...) Salad cream looks like mayo, and could be mistaken for mayo... but all you have to do is taste it to be sure it's not mayo!

That's the case with Miracle Whip too. I've mistaken MW for Mayo much to my dismay. lol

From the looks of it, it looks like sauce Marie Rose, the stuff Prawn cocktail comes in. And I'm not that mad about it... I usually keep the ketchup and mayo seperate.

I LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE salad cream. Every time I visit my friends in The Lake District, UK, I go to Morrison's and get about 3 huge bottles to bring home.

But we're talking about before the tasting...

If you have 3 bowls, 2 with different mayonnaises and one with salad cream, before you taste it and touch it, would you know which was the one with the salad cream? (No smelling it, either).

Never heard of salad cream before.
Won't touch mayo with a 10-ft pole - it's vile.

Give me Miracle Whip and I'm happy though :D

I am well aware that it sounds disgusting, but if you mix an equal amount of Miracle Whip and mustard, it makes for a really good dipping sauce for steaks. I grew up eating that mixture with steak fondue, and I still whip some of that up from time to time now.
