It is interesting that your image is scoring 8+ but your profile average hasn't changed at all since yesterday. How does that work I wonder? ... perhaps you are pulling our leg? |

I realize this is above average for me, but the picture I took is so much better than my usual stuff, so this is *very* disheartening for me. How can I judge my progress if the voting makes no sense? I knew there was a problem when I saw beguin and clarke pictures regularly getting scores like this, but it really hits home now. I'll just keep my fingers crossed for some more good comments and (dare I hope?) some favorites...

I am in the EXACT same boat....my best work yet, started out at a 7...now I am stuck at 4.8..

My Four Elements entry sucks and is scoring well, my selective desat entry was very good (IMHO) and scored below 6. It's the Trolls I tell ya!!!

yay lol, finally its starting to go up a bit, went up a whole 0.1 points :D I know how those above me feel, i too thought this was my best yet but the score isn't reflecting that. Hopefully things will pick up a bit, still a week left |

| The voting here has no rhyme or reason. At least that is what I can make of it. A million people can't be wrong but how does that work when only a small fraction vote. oh wait its called democracy. No matter what the voting is this site is fun, makes ya think, and gives ya stuff to do that you mite not normally do. It is all for fun anyways not like there is big money prizes or equipment involved. If you like your picture and think it is good you can probally find alot of other people who will like it as well perhaps it just not here. This is another thing that just sunk in my head the last challenge. I was also looking through past challenges and alot of the picture I like were way below the ribbon winners. blah blah blah yea I can blah forever. Yea I like this place and perhaps one day this place will like my pictures until then I am gonna keep on truckin down the line. oh and my pic is at 5.4 which is a ok by me................................. |

I tried to be a little experimental with this one....ya know, out of my comfort zone and safe little box...
Kapow! The voters are murdering me! Sitting at 5.2 (guess it could be worse...just look at my pathetic first attempt at Selective Desat!)...on a better note, my Username entry is faring well.

It does look like some people are taking a battering according to this thread. But let me say this: This challenge had some of the most wonderful images I have seen for a while. I think I gave more 9's and 10's than in any other recent challenge. |

I'd have to say that part of the reason I am giving out more 9's and 10's is because there is a LOT of images to go through (390????). I feel somewhat sad because there's a lot of image that I would normally give a 6 or 7 but I have to give a 5 simply because there's about 20 of the same style of image. (E.g. waterfalls) Its not that they are bad (which would earn a score under 5) its just hard for one waterfall shot to stand out amongst all the other.
Mine was a shot that while not overly done does have a few competitors (about 4 that I counted) that used a similar subject/style

| I'm about to go vote on every single entry in this challenge and give only scores between 8 to 10 to counteract the low voters out there. My photo is done but, I can try to save the low scores out there that didn't deserve em. |

I'm on my way to vote now and everything that I see that has 3 similar subjects/styles is getting ones. It's hard for one (insert subject here) to stand out amongst the other.

Only 98 percent because I obviously can't vote on mine or my teams and then there were 2 that I just couldn't give an 8, 9 or 10 so I just didn't vote on them at all. |
