I have had a couple of these - it is nothing to worry about, providing you have followed the rules.

P.S. welcome back

Mike

First things first,

!!!!!!!!WELCOME BACK SUE!!!!!!!!!

I can still remember the sad situation why you left shortly after joining late last year.

Please don't be put off by a DQ request.. it a right of passage here on DPC, everyone requires a DQ request at some point, I got one on my first challenge many years ago. In fact, if someone thinks you had to cheat to achieve a certain style/effect, surely thats actually a compliment in a roundabout way. Dont be put out by it, trust me, if someone does something to wind you up, I can guarentee its been done a hundred times before, you can go about reacting to it 2 ways..

1. My (old) way. shout, scream & cuss!

2. Smile sweetly, say thanks for the input and just carry on.. (my new way)

Good luck in your first challenge, dont expect miracles straight off, and defintely learn from any comments you recieve.. always ask if you are not sure about something.. for every idiot on the site, there are hundreds more far less idiotic.. :)

:) thanks for your input..

Remember that in most cases the DQ request is proof positive that you are more "creative" than the person who requested it, since they obviously can't imagine how you created your image within the rules. : )

If the photo is legal (and you have/submit the original) you should have nothing to worry about.

Validation is a normal part of the process whenever an image has an element that "could" be done in a manner that doesn't follow the rules.

Many photos go through validation; it could be because it looks like it was taken out of the challenge dates, and it could be because of the way it may appear to be processed.

All winning photos go through validation as well.

It's not a threat, just part of the normal checks and balances at DPC. It also best not to discuss these sort of things in the forum threads, because in discussing your photos validation request, you could give away enough details that people could identify your entry.

They are not saying that you are cheating in other words.

I ask for validation on many challenges. I asked for one on DPl album and it was DQ'd. If they had not broken the rules it wouldn't have been. Where is the problem. I don't care if soemone asks for 10 validations per challenge. there is thier right.

BTW someone clicking the button doesn't mean you get the notice. putting editing steps and other info int he notes can prevent you from having to submit proof sometimes.

Edit to add that sometimes i clcik the button because I think it is very creative and I think they may be getting voted down for it. them having it say it has been validated helps the votes.

I always submit a for validation with my original because I use to always get asked for it anyway.
