Austin, TX - May 6th anyone? - DPChallenge Forums

I'll be visiting Austin soon and would love the chance to meet up with DPC'rs! Sunday the 6th or Monday the 7th are the days I'm free to wander the streets with other camera wielding folks. Anyone want to show me the town?

(I'm also interested in suggestions on "must-see" places.)

If any of the locals would be available, I'd drive down from Friso for the weekend. I've lived in TX for 15 years and I've never been to Austin!

Looks like there are a couple of events that might be of interest:
Cinco de Mayo Festival
and at the Zilker Botanical Gardens Satsuki Matsuri

I live in Austin as does yanko and arsenal. Maybe SandyP can drive up from San Antonio.

I might be able to do it Sunday the 6th, but have to work on Monday.

I certainly wouldn't stop you! I'm part of the never-been-to-Texas-group and am hoping they let me get off the plane. :-)

The Central TX Group is just the peeps in central TX on the site. There are a few of them. I'm considered N. TX I guess, lol. But I still like bugging those guys...they're a hoot! If ya wanna come along on the 6th...let Jutilda know you are interested. I think she was trying to pull the gang together.

The ladybird Johnson wildflower Center might be a cool place to go. She is responsible for Austin having so many beautiful wildflowers.

I just remembered something. I can't go on either of those days :( Sunday is my little granddaughter's birthday and we're having a party for her at my house and Monday I have to work :(

My hand is way, way high for Austin...since that's where I'll be without a car.... Of course, I might accept a ride somewhere. :)

I believe I'll be at the Radisson at 111 Cesar Chavez at Congress. (Freeloading on hubby's conference is so much fun!)
