Real nice work.
It is refreshing to see all the really great new talent here on DPC.
I have not been here as much as I want to lately what with the holidays, shopping and building a new website.
Living in Texas now and missing the "White Christmas" LOL

Can you give us the height of your tree?

Edit:
I will try later to get a nice shot of our tree and fireplace :)

With the high ceiling in our front living room we use to put a large 10' christmas tree.

But now we have gone back to a shorter 8' tree with just my wife and I at home to set it all up.

I use to outline the entire roof/house with red christmas lights also but I do not do that anymore :( no one around to help.

They say it is called getting OLD. LOL

But we still have a great holiday every year :)

So, you assume EVERYONE has a Christmas tree? Doesn't that leave out theJews, Hindu's, Buddhists, Atheists (et al) among the photographers? Is this strictly a "Christian" discussion?

I'm not Christian but I still do Christmas every year. And I'll be posting Tree pics once I actually buy and decorate one.

I saw a post earlier about rude comments, does that assume that everyone has gotten them? Doesn't that leave out all the people that have yet to receive comments or who don't receive them?

Just playing Devil's Advocate for a second. :) Happy Holidays!

Don't have a dradel, Buddah, the Torah, or the Koran, but please feel free to post pictures of any or all of them here yourself.

Here is one of the tree in our front family room.
It is approx. 7 1/2' tall.

I'm in enough trouble discussing politics, I think I better stay out of any discussion of religion ... but it's just as fine for someone to discuss a Christmas tree as to talk about Channukah Gelt (chocolate money) or celebrating Eid (the end of Ramadan) or your sweat lodge or sauna or any other ritual you want. We try to avoid making the challenge topics restrictive or exclusive in that way, but I think the forums are an inclusive process.

BTW: I think it's usually spelled "dreidel" (it's a Yiddish word). I'm not sure I can find one to take a photo of, but I have a handy Hacky-Sack I've been meaning to post -- that was a symbol of the most popular campus "religion" for a while -- maybe that will do.

That is beautiful.

Great Photo, and a great tree.

Thank you.

In addition to the normal Christmas lights the tree has three strings of the large tear drop Christmas lights from Bethlehem Lights.
They did not show as well as I hoped but it is nice.

The pomeranian could not stay awake :)
His ears are laying down flat because he did not like it when we asked him to stay so we could get out of the shot.

I took some with a custom WB but I did not like them, they did not have the warmth the other shots had using the incandescent light WB. They just came out to white and did not look normal.

LOL

Thank you.

I was not crazy about the curtains.
I just threw them back up for the photo and they are all wrinkled.
During all our remodeling we had all new windows installed and all we had up were the mini blinds. And they looked horrible in the shot.

I love this thread I hope to see more of the great tree shots and maybe some other decorations.

Great idea Flash.

Christmas is a commercial venture created by capital merchants to exploit Christ's birth via marketing!!
