| what does everyone mean by scores going up at the rollover? still kinda new :) |

Votes often get dropped at rollover due to the voter not making the twenty percent. It can change your score either positively or negatively. There can also be votes dropped if the computer detects improper voting...usually means low votes are dropped.

At rollover, the scores go through the "vote scubber" which scrubs out all the false voting patterns (e.g. if someone votes all 1's on every single entry as an example).
Usually, the scores change slightly which in this challenge would be beneficial.

It usually doesn't affect your vote a whole lot and you can actually go down, so it's a crapshoot. This time though I am expecting a large boost. We'll see if it happens. I'll post my score at 8:59PM PDT.

Well, I've been hovering at 4.97 - 4.98 for days now, and when I log in just now? 5.0000. I'd like to be above 5! Or at least at it!

My image started with a one vote...and has continued to receive many more...and some horrible, horrible comments. One saying that photoshop is in the wrong hands with this image (or to that effect), whilst other comments rave at how good this is. Oh well...my score reflects a not so good image.
Maybe next time.

Lookin at a personal worst here with this 4.59
Guess it balances out my personal best last week (5.88 in bicycles)
Oh well.. Hope Rule of Thirds will be better :)

Not sure that it was mentioned, in response to your question about "rollover", but the "vote scrubber" will also cast out any votes from people that didn't vote on at least 20% of all entries for the challenge.
They could be good scores or bad scores, hence the "crapshoot" that  DrAchoo mentioned.
