this is what i came up with for my daughter's birday party (wasn't I funny - the guy with the cut gallon milk jug on his camera flash pointing up. This worked great and was 100% free (not too portable or cool but it worked).
example at 29mm with 18-200 VR ISO: 200 | Exp. Time: 1/200s | Aperture: 4.5 | Focal Length: 29.0mm

So you didn't get a chance to try out the glue? Picture came out really well for a quick flash diffuser, i'll have to remember that if I'm ever in a tight spot! :) |

Combination of things but I didn't get a chance to put anything else together - the milk arton actually stayed on pretty well becuase i intentionall cut the hole too small but had slits going out toward the sides of the flash - so the tension held it on without anything else. After I removed it and put it back a few times it did start to loosen up a bit.
Bonus: you can add your own graphics / sharpie pen to the outside to show how cool anf frugal you are (mine said something like "Photo Nerd" which my wife wrote on it ;)
I'm really glad i saw this thread though to remind me of how simple things can improve photos such a great deal. |

I don't have a problem with it falling off...I have a problem getting it on (out of the gutter people)!! I struggle with it and am quite exhausted by the time I get it fitted on. Although, I do like the results when I do use it.

I ordered the Whale Tail by Gary Fong yesterday. I have a lightsphere for my 420ex flash, but didn't have one for the 580ex.... so Gary gets my cash again.
Can't wait to try it out. :)
