I still haven't recoverd from shooting into the sun, now they want us to go out in the dark. I tell you a person can get hurt like this.

So, are we supposed to take a photo when it's dark out. Is it night when it's light out? What if I live at the North Pole and it's night, but the sun is still up?
:-P

Ahahaha! So, that's your plan...you are going to hide away at the North Pole and pretend you have left DPC, then register again as FrozenLip!! Your little ploy has been exposed, something you don't want to do at the North Pole, bits fall off there!

Anyway, North Pole is in darkness now due to winter, you'd have to come down south.

OK then, maybe I live in an airplane that flies to the west and circles the earth every 24 hours and it's always noon where I am.

Preferably High Noon, and a member of the Mile High Club at the same time.

Just to be the killjoy that I am -- from wikipedia:

Night or nighttime is the period in which the sun is below the horizon.

So, it should be dark (or twilight at least). If the sun is up, it's not night.

Ya, I shot a pretty decent startrail shot over the Grand Canyon with the moon illuminating the canyon like it was day.

Time of picture...8:49 PM (rollover is 9:00PM here)

Can we institute a rule that precludes Icelandic photographers from submitting shots of the Northern Lights ;)

As soon as I get a decent processing job on it. :)

I don't think it would have won (at least I hope it wouldn't have)...no aurora in Arizona.

I do find the DPC gods have smiled upon those of us going to the Phoenix GTG on Saturday since the whole purpose is to do some night shooting.

Photochop the Northern Lights into your Grand Canyon shot and throw it into this month's Expert Editing Free Study. :)
