Mine's inching up a bit, and it looks like others are too. Who knows where we might all end up. Looks like Simms might be a ribbon winner tho. You Go! Now I need to finish voting and see if I can guess which one is so magnificent it is scoring a 7 in this low-scoring vindictive challenge :)

Better than 4.9 I was at before. I still have my "DNMC 1" comment which I hope gets removed soon.

If anything I hope my score helps Cindi's entry overcome its fear of heights. :)

Not too shabby, I guess. But what I'd REALLY like to know is....are the April Fool's "DNMC" 1 scores going to be removed??? That might bring me over the '6' mark...or darn close. Anyone know if the prankster votes will be removed?

I believe said prankster is in the process of removing the comments and putting appropriate votes on the pictures...all 500 and change of them.

the prankster has definitely committed to re-commenting and rescoring all of the shots. If your comment still reads as it did originally, it's probable that he has not gotten to it yet. He has over 500 entries to comment on and rescore, so it may take some time. The joke may very well be on him! ;-)

That person is working their way through. It is an impressive effort to do all 500 entries twice. I received my updated comment- I am sure you will shortly. At least I have come up from my 3.5, but not over 5.0 yet. I was picked a fave by someone! Getting there. I was shocked at first.

Whew!! I feel much better now...the "prankster" has taken away his DNMC 1 score and replaced it with a '7' (although I think he should have given us all '10s' for the stress factor!) No really, I'm happy with the 7...gets me up into that beautiful 6 range! :)

It started off on a very modest 5.3 (3.9 during April Fools Day craziness), I'm pleased it's going up :)

Well, slowly but surely, my score is rising, and hopefully it will creep up to that magical "6", that I love to get.
I am at present higher than my average, so I am pleased with that.....

I am pleased with my comments, as they are correct, but I still, like my image the way it is.
I also think, that I hadn't realized that my lap top computer screen is proberly very differant to my computer screen at home, and that is why my images have been getting the comments I have.

Silly me, as it is now time to nearly be going back home, and just realized this..... I must be in dreamland.

Dear Raish,

Thank you for correcting your DNMC 1 comment and giving me a 6!!

My score has finally changed somewhat and is now 6.1250

The Stone of Sisyphus is finally at the top of the hill and my faith has been restored!

Thank you for getting rid of the DNMC 1. Was starting to get worried that your really meant it. My score is what I was expecting.

The scoring on this challenge has been bizarre - I get the feeling that some people were voting fairly low in response to the April Fool's day thing (i.e. if someone's score is sitting on 4.8 and they haven't been reading the threads they are not exactly going to be in a happy mood when voting) but that seems to have resolved itself. My score has gone up about .4 in only 30 votes since the fool's day shambles was corrected.

Quick question: I am voting on some of the current submissions and am having trouble on how to score. When scoring how much weight does photo vs idea and relevance to theme have.
What is an average score when you like something but it doesn't have that extra something. What if a photo is really good, but doesn't fit the challenge as well as some. What if it doesn't fit the challenge at all. One of my instructors said that a lot of thought should be given to the composition as well as the title that you give a photo. Obviously these are important, but are they just as important as the quality of the photo?

It's a Free Study so everything should fit the challenge.

Well I am sitting at 5.2 odd which is a bit lower than I anticipated, didnt think mind was mind blowing but sure not below average and I still have my DNMC 1 comment. It took this guy about 8 or so hours to give everyone a 1 and DNMC comment but now another 2.5 days have passed and it still hasnt been totally rectified. I will be really PO'd if it is not sorted out soon. It has totally ruined my enjoyment of this challenge and yes I do have a sense of humor but it makes me wonder how many other people voted all 1s and have only rectified some of them.

Okay rant over.

No one can answer that for you. Trying will only start flame wars. Once you've been here awhile, you figure out a system that works for you and that's that.
