I have many questions, are they conveniently answered all in one place?

I'm guessing that WPL is like other leagues where you are judged against your own average? Right?

Can anyone play?

Can anyone start a team?

Are team tattoos optional?

There's the four that are really bugging me...

I don't think so, but WPL is going through some changes as DPchallenge is taking over the reigns.

As it is now, you have seven people on a team and and the highest 4 individual scores are averaged together, one score used per person.

Can anyone play?
Yes

Can anyone start a team?
Yes, but some changes may be coming for next season.

Are team tattoos optional?
No

An interesting idea, a handicapped league where each weekly entry score is compared to the photographer's average score.

I agree that there needs to be some sort of handicapping, just to level the playing field. Maybe not individual handicapping, but team handicapping?

Suggested many moons ago:

At the start of the season take the photographer's previous ten challenge and average them - this would be that photographer's starting average.

Using the last ten challenges gives a current snapshot average of how well the photographer is currently scoring, using the overall average will not accurately reflect the how the photographer is doing now.

For the WPL score use (Score) - (Computed last ten Avg) = (Result)

where would I find the info once you post it Southern?

I'm surprised it's not handicapped - no wonder there's so much jockeying for teams - and why I never get a response!

There is one great thing having this NOT handicapped, coming into a team with out being close to the strongest people there, and having to fight you way up, just so they wont rip you to pieces next time you'll meet them.

It's easy to outscore your self, when you are learning, but it's a challenge to outscore those who already are amongst the best, and that challenge is a blast !

I think a handicapping system would be too hard to design and unfair. Would it be "fair" if a, say 7.0 score and a ribbon from someone with high average like Larus, Scalvert or DrAchoo would lose against a average photographer scoring a 6.2? What would be the worth of having good photographers on one's team?

Handicapping is very hard to design and only really works in golf using very complicated rules to make sure the handicapping system does not work against talent. Remember that not everyone needs to score a 7, usually a team average of 6 is enough to qualify to the next round. So average and improving players still make a valuable addition to a WPL team.
