I need your help pricing a job. A company from switzerland has contacted me about a photo of mine. We have been going back and forth, but basically this is what they are saying:

"we have the idea to build a story around your photo. the
central message is "we can handle your wishes". it is a
print ad of about an a4 page (200x260mm). your photo will
be placed over the whole page accompained by a slogan. it
will be published in 2 magazines with about 3000 copies."

I guess my question is how much would be a fair price to charge? I don't want to chase them away with an outrageous price, but I also don't want to get ripped off. This is the picture: //www.flickr.com/photos/benagaindotcom/351032006/

Thanks for the help, guys!

Try one of the online stock photo price calculators like:-

//photographersindex.com/stockprice.htm

Google as there are others.

Thank you so much kavey. I didn't know those calculators existed. That has helped me out a lot.

You're welcome.
I can't comment on how accurate they are and I know that most stock libraries have their own model of pricing but if you check out a few it'll give you a starting point!

I went to Alamy and priced a photo out using your information. Alamy has more categories that need info so I just guessed. I think it's basically close but if you go to www.alamy.com and find a similar photo, price it there and see what you come up with. Alamy guess was $265 per magazine. Best of luck.

I'd look up the magazines, find out what their actual circulation numbers and ad rates are, and price accordingly.
