I like the guy's pictures. I'd much rather see one of his pictures than another splash or beach sunset or minimalist lightbox setup. As far as the comments go, fotomann said it, everyone makes "assumptions".on what a challenge descriotion is. I didn't see anything malicious in his comments, just that in his mind they dnmc. I've gotten comments that I dnmc when I clearly did and I ignore them. That was their oppinion. In the grand scheme of things one bad score isn't going to really affect the other 300 votes much. Give the guy a break. Lighten up.

He wouldn't be the first and certainly won't be the last to make "assumptions" as to what the challenge pics should look like :-)

My guess, around the whole commenting point, is that someone's button was pushed and the testosterone kicked in. One thing led to another and the situation went a bit over the top. Some clues - many comments left with nothing in the comment box at all, and then there was the posting (linking) of a challenge entry (Personification challenge) photo (not his) in a forum thread while still in the voting stage; this photo I believe ==>

All speculation of course. :D

I think Robert ( Bear_Music) has a good perspective on where whiterook is coming from, and I kind of hope to see whiterook back in the near future. After all, he's nearly famous now! :P

The guy is interesting. Most of us who take "better photos" would never be missed like he is.

I'll give him credit in that he seems to take pictures that are important to him. It's obvious that chess is an important part of his life. Maybe we can learn something from this.

Isn't he the one trying for the lowsest score record???

Good for him- he can come up with newer ideas for his quest for browns. I am sure we are gonna see a fresh and enthusiastic witherhook maybe he can get a special 'DMNC' button on his keyboard so that he needs to just 1 letter instead of 4 and save his energy for diciding between voting 1 and 2

Wow, that sounds and feels bitter.

Bitter 'No', 'Sarcy' yes. I am a relative newcomer here so cant really comment on his past antics but i did receive his comments twice and both were utterly out of place. Its a great place to learn to make better pictures, not to indulge in personal whims (for that there are millions of websites)

Has anyone noticed the comments on his chess pictures? Everyone tries to figure out the next move......

Just something to ponder :)

I've got nothing against him and wish him well, and I think he's got as much right to enter whatever he likes as anyone. However, I'm pretty much mystified by the platitudes he's getting, and the high words he seems to be garnering for his "art". I consider myself fairly liberal when it comes to defining what makes a picture unique and artistic, but I'm fairly stumped by his admirers in this regard. Reminds me strongly of Peter Sellers' "Being There".

This may offend some & sorry if it does, I got tired of reading the treads half way thru. Some people are just too whiney on this site, let him enter whatever he wants. The comments he left for the veggies challenge are pathetic, but who's to say he can't post pictures just because they're not up to "your" standard?
Sorry, just putting my 2 cents out there.

if you have 2 fingers and a keyboard, your opinion is more than welcome here ... btw, your signature is rather appropriate for this topic, me thinks! :)
