Her dad shot this image:

Looks like photographic talent might be a genetic trait after all :)

Well done, ArnaRos. I know we are all looking forward to seeing more of your pictures.

I like what I see, and feel she has an amazing artistic eye, and a delicate feeling in her soft colored images.
I for one have added her as a favorite, so that I can visit her portfolio anytime, to see what she is doing.
I love this this image that won a ribbon, and hope she wins many, many more.....

Might as well add a rule now banning Icelandic babies from entering so we can all save face.

I couldn't be more proud, she is amazing and maybe the worst mistake was that we(the parents) didn't give her a camera untill last Christmas.

I think it's just amazing that she as a ribbon winner took her first pictures two months prior ribboning!! (has only taken 3-400 in whole) And that would go for any age...

go ahead keep rubbing it in lol we can't get stronger without the pain...j/k of course. You should be very proud, my daughter has an awesome eye for photographs but since we are apart I don't get to enjoy that with her.

Keep up the great work arnaros.

Did this photo violate the rules for advance editing? (single capture)

2 other photos in the portfolio have the same smoke stack and mountain landscape in the background, but none have the bridge. didn't know where else to post this question.

I thnk it is perspective. The bridge is more to the right.
I hope people here will just let the 9 year old little girl bask in the glory of her recently won ribbon.

They were taken the same day, same location. Have you placed on photo on top of another to see how identical they are?

Oh, come on. The other side of that lagoon might be a mile away. You could easily move a good distance in either direction and it'd look the same.

Remember that the top 5 shots in every challenge are validated. Rely on the SC and worry about your own photography.

mellow out lev, I posed it as a question not an accusation and then i provided some reasons for why I asked.

Tell me that photo couldn't be a composite of two images...

Fair enough. There are people around DPC, though, who live to throw out accusations and start trouble. And "could it be a composite" isn't the same question as "did you create this with a composite?"

Accusations of cheating against a nine year old.. how low is that!

Before coming up with "accusations" like this you should do your homework first and look into what your theory is about. A very simple thing to do is to open those images side by side on your screen and REALLY compare the them, not just throw out something like this...
At least you made people think!

This one is taken on the other side of the bridge in the same direction, closer to the steam stack:

And this one is taken maybe half an hour later about 200m (1/8 mile) from where the ribbon image was taken, and also in the same direction:

Even this one has yet another foreground but the same steam stack, I took it 3 days earlier not far from where Arna Rós took her great photos:

I think it's sweet that she took a photo of Daddy. My older girl is 8.
