Sorry to hear that!

One summer, I hit my hip 3 times on the trim in the hallway of our house (it's an L shaped hallway) and man did it hurt. I thought I was crazy, but luckily it was just a temporary fad. Hopefully 3rd times a charm for you too!

LOL I definitely need steel-toed boots! Unfortunately, I live in Florida and work from home, so yeah, I'm barefoot most of the time. I'm going to monitor it tonight and decide tomorrow if it needs attention. Funny thing is, it looks gross, but doesn't hurt much at all. lol

I've heard before that breaking a toe is better than fracturing it, something about a better heal.

Personally I don't wear shoes, I wear those outdoor sandles, I pick a size 1-2 more than I actually am (why I don't wear shoes), so the ends stick past my toes 1 inch, which while looking stupid, have saved my toes a number of times, while keeping my feet much more cool than a shoe would.

Florida is too bloody hot. It is like the sun came down and took a big on everyone.

ouch Cindi, I broke my little toe back in April and it still aches me every day and night. I always wear flip flops, its a wonder I dont break my toes more... I broke my big toe one time too.. I had to walk on crutches

Now you guys know why I don't dance! :)

I don't know about the break versus fracture thing... this one is definitely a chip (because I can feel the "floating" bit) but could be a fracture too. The same nurse neighbor that I mentioned 15 months ago did her best home diagnosis earlier today.....I'm still not sure it needs a doc because there's nothing that can be done... I think.. :D

*shakes head and sighs*
Ahhh, Cindi, Cindi, Cindi, what ARE we going to do with you?

Cindi, my dear, you are a hobbling disaster area!

Cos you live where it is hot and sunny, flipflops are a no-no, sandals are a no-no, what you need are FLIPPERS!! No more broken toes, no excuses about it being hot, FLIPPERS are the now accessory for the modern Florida babe.

So, go and flap your way around that sunny state!!

LMAO I can just see me running around after a bride & groom in flippers. The comedy value would be well worth the slower pace. Maybe I could start a fashion trend! :D

a break and a fracture are the same thing. :)
and how did you chip a bone on your instep? Jumping off a building? Those are held together and safe by lots of tissue, ligaments and tendons.

I've broken the same pinky toe twice and I know how bad it hurts!! The first time I broke it they said it was fine and would heal on it's own, and it did, although slightly crooked. But the second time I broke it they said that because it had already been broken once before, it wasn't likely to heal well a second time and if it didn't heal correctly it would cause me problems later. So I had to go to a foot doctor and have it set, which was the least fun I ever had in my whole life next to childbirth. :( But it did fix my toe and now it's not all weird and crooked.

Anyway, you would think that I would have learned my lesson and wear shoes at home now, but I still prefer being barefoot. Fortunately I've managed not to damage myself too bad in a while!

Its sorta the side of the instep, just a few inches below the ankle and forward a bit. I was scuffling with one of the neighbors' kids and kinda collided with his shin bone. Didn't hurt him a bit, but I knew I was hurt instantly... owie! Its looking a bit better today, less colorful. I've kept it elevated anytime I could today.

Or be more careful? ;)

I seriously bruised the bone in my arch years ago (don't ask!) and had to use crutches for two freakin' weeks. NOT fun.

Cindi dear, would you rather chase after wedding couples in flippers or in a cast? :P
