I think you need to wear steel-toed sandals!

I knew I liked you, JP! :D

Brennan, thanks for the advice, not sure about steel-toed, but I will be wearing shoes much more often now -- its hard though because I work from home so I'm used to running around barefoot or in socks all day.

I just hobbled 2 doors down to my friend's house - she's a nurse. She taped it all up for me, moves less but doesn't hurt less. :(

Thanks, Ivan.

I've just spent 3 hours trying to finish the redecorating of the room that started this battle, which meant I was on my feet for the last 3 hours. Now I am soooooooooooooo ready for a hot bath and/or a cold beverage which ever I find first!! BTW, room still not finished, I couldn't take it.

*hugs Cindi* Have a cold drink in the hot bath... will be much good for you. :-)

Hope it heals fast. I broke all but my big toe at the same time on a diving board. ( yeah I know....freak) Makes for a funny looking sight to say the least. And the dive was a pretty weird sight as well.

OMG that sounds horrid! 4 toes in one break? Ouch!! I cringe at the thought!!

You know, you'd think that by now you'd have learned just how far that toe sticks out and would have stopped running it into things, wouldn't you? Evidently a slow learner.... ;)

(I can say that cuz I only broke mine TWICE :P )

You know, every time I see this headline on the front page, I think to myself, "Damn, how many toes can Cindi break in a week??" ;-)

You need more milk...because I've seriously jammed my toe on some stuff and it's never broken. They bend in crazy ways, but never have broken.

Sorry to hear that Cindi. If it makes you feel better I just broke my nose for the 3rd time on Valentines Day! :)

My broken toe story is a bit of a world record attempt: I managed to drop a rather large lump of square-section steel on my foot and broke my middle toe on my right foot in two places (only my middle toe, you notice). Such accuracy should, I feel, not go unrewarded. In hospital, I had the middle toe taped to the adjacent toe, then had plaster applied up to my knee (I'm not kidding, it really happened), to support the foot. The upshot is that now I've got a middle toe on my right foot that is as crooked as can be and the toe will actually bend upwards at the middle joint, but not bend downwards. Really worth six weeks on crutches in my opinion!!

Don't let me scare you, though.

LOL Reading through this thread you'd think we were a pretty clumsy community! :P

MrP - I'm amazed by your talent! ;)

Kickin' this thread to see if there is any news. *ouch!

Hope you are up and running before the St Augustine Fl GTG Cindi. At least the bone stayed inside the toe.
If you contact Art, I am sure that he would add that bad ol' bed to his "Things to burn" list for you.

Well Cindi, if you feel like you did anything clumsy or foolish, just read what these guys did, and you'll feel MUCH better about yourself. :o)

I'm doing fine. The toe is still achy and I'm not going to be wearing tight shoes any time soon, but I'm hobbling along anyway. I'm going out with friends tomorrow, guess I'll be going in flip flops.

Oh and setting myself on fire.... been there done that! :P I was about 12 at the time & it was my sister's idea. Luckily we didn't hurt ourselves (ME). lol

Ample time has passed - do you need corrective surgery for your toe????

*sets up paypal account for cindi's toe*

*pours analgesics for all involved*
03/18/2007 10:21:54 PM · #67
Mmmmmmmm libations! :D

No surgery, but the silly thing has stayed swollen. Probably because I refuse to sit for more than a few minutes at a time - ever. Its still pretty sore too, expecially when I wack it on something *cringes*. Thanks for checking up on me, JP. :)
03/18/2007 11:26:23 PM · #68
If you can't sit still for a few minutes then you've never had a polack-special margarita! I've sat still for years at a time. Hmmmm - wait a minute, that doesn't sound so cool anymore .... :(

Really though - big waves of toe-healing-power going out.

*pours libations for all involved*

Well, its been 15 months... and ... uhm... its not the toe this time!!! :D

Found out a few hours ago that the horrid blue/green/gray/red/black area on the instep of my right foot is actually a chipped bone and hemotoma (sp?). Why must I break stuff so often? And why is it always on this foot?

I know, not fun without pics.... I'll try to grab one tomorrow. :P

OMG Cindi!!!

Take care of your poor footsy!
06/25/2008 08:59:47 PM · #71
I think you need these Cindi. ;\

Hope you heal nicely and are fit to break more (not). :D
06/25/2008 09:00:29 PM · #72
Do you walk around barefoot a lot? When I don't wear shoes I am constantly stubbing toes, sometimes breaking them, and dropping stuff on the top of my feet and bruising them.
06/25/2008 09:00:39 PM · #73
Cindi, maybe you should change your login to "Old Nine Toes".

Get that thing fixed, before it kills you!
