I'm 16 and have found that many of the stock photo places are limited to persons 18 and older. Does anyone know of one that caters to the younger photographers?

I think it is because you pretty much agree to a contract, which you generally need to be 18 for (i could be way off base here)

I would have to agree. In the US, you may not enter into a binding legal contract until you are 18 or with a guardians permission.

My best advice, contact the owners of the site and see if you can work something out with them and your parents. After all, if you make money, they make money :)

I never found any over18s-only clause at Shutterstock, because I had that problem too.

Ah, its nice to be 18 now :)

Good luck with the stock though, theres definitely a few sites out there that don't explicitly require 18yo+.

Is that Shutterstock website valid and a good idea?

Not sure what you mean by "valid".
Whether or not its a good idea depends what you want from stock - if you want to go the microstock route, its one of the sites with the most traffic as far as I'm aware, and many people here use it and make varying amounts of money from it, depending on their portfolio & how often they keep it updated.
Some people hate the idea of microstock and will only submit to macrostock, in which case shutterstock aint for you, but thats a personal choice and theres plenty of reading material in the forums to help you make that decision!
