i dont get people who view something and dont vote.. i have pretty much the same number of views as the guy below yet a hell of a lot less votes... Does having your entr at the end of the lot mean you get less people looking/voting? because i think entered mine on the last day :S

The entries are displayed randomly to different voters. What's at the end of your voting page might be at the beginning of mine. Some people just like to look at the pictures, while others could vote, but look at a shot more than once.

maybe they are coming back to view it again:) the order that everyone sees photos in is random.

My friend and I look at some of the thumbnails usually on Monday and Wednesday morning.
Not enough time to give it a fair vote-- just getting a feel for what was submitted adnd some quick predictions ...

Usually ike "mine's gonna win ... these stink" ;P

And as far as I'm concerned, snow is ice. However, people entering snow should have seen this coming, I could've entered so many snow photos its not even funny.

I have two, actually. One is a Sansalone 165W, the other is a Sansalone 158.5W...

Because snow is a particular form of ice. It's not an ice cube, or a hailstone, but it is ice. Sorry. This argument doesn't hold water. Hahahahaha. Punpunpunpunpun.

Carbon is compressed & heated to become Diamond, which has the nick-name, Ice; therefore Carbon is Ice.
:-P

Just how do you get "ICE" from compressing and heating carbon??

It's slang. ice.com

For the snow-is-ice debate.... Sometimes I have snowball fights with my kids, I wouldn't dream of having iceball fights with them, that's just too hard-core. ;-)

Sometimes I have snow-cones with my kids. Fortunately, we just make them out of crushed ice rather than waiting for a blizzard. ;-P

Interesting. I'm getting the same comments, but thought it was a joke, ie where's the ice? It never occurred to me that people would not think of them in the same category. Snow technically is ice crystals regardless if it is not used in cubes, etc.

Anyway, not that big of a deal, but my scores reflect the prevailing opinion

4.8...
not to many votes and a few comments about ice, at least no DNMC yet. :)

Sorry, but I believe in my most humble opinion, that SNOW and ICE are two different beasts. So far, I'm about halfway done in the scoring and I've come across many superior shots - but they appear to be snow-inspired, not ice. I personally worked hard to distinguish between the two in my own shot (believe me, I would have rather done snow!) But Many Congrats to all who entered - some real beauties!

Oh, and for my present score - I'm in the 5.9's

My score has climbed nearly two full points since yesterday morning; the first twenty-five voters a score of five - if I could nix those votes I'd have a real contender.
