Maybe this has been done before...I am not sure. But I was just reading a photo magazine (one month behind) and saw a challenge going out for Jan. to shoot every 5 minutes for a 24 hour time period. Since I already missed the magazines challenge...wanted to see if anyone else would like to try this with me? We can pick a day, shoot for the 24 hours (giving ourselves 8 hours for sleep and 1 hour for personal activities) and then post our top 5 favorites or so of our 24 hour time period. Anyone up to taking the callenge with me?

sounds intense...sorry don't have the time for that :-)

we can always change the rules aound a bit to be every 15 minutes or 1/2 hour. Its just suppose to be fun and to increase ones abilities to shoot through all aspects of the day and to shoot all the differing lighting situations throughout the day. Just thought it could be fun and challenging.

Count me out, taking a pic every 5 mins is insane and apparently used by special forces as a form on torture.

I might be interested. It would have to be on a weekend day, I will let you know when I can.

this could be fun. Let me know when you're doing it. I'd probably post the entire day somewhere. Keep in mind, my life is boring, so you may not get alot of interesting stuff.

I think I would be in if we did it every 30 mins or on the hour maybe as every 5 mins would result in a lot of work and maybe not too much in the thought of things which I suppose what it's supposed to do but I would think on the hour would be just as fun and slightly less stressful!
Cheers
Jeff

Ok for those of you willing to do it....how about Friday and Saturday March 2 and 3 rd (you can choose which day or do both) Challenge yourself to the time you feel is right for you (every 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 1/2 hour or hour) Then on Sunday March 4th we will post some of our best for critique. Sound good?

The magazine challenge states....we improve as photographers by forcing ourselves to shoot; by finding the photograph when there doesn't seem to be one; by studying the light-every kind of light we encounter-and seeing the photo potential in it. Capturing a great image of Angelina Jolie nder soft box is easy. But how about that candy wrapper in the gutter? Can you still make an outstanding photograph when the subject and conditions arn't perfect?
This challenge really got me thinking. I want to expand as a photographer and learn more about myself at the same time. Its going to be a very intense 24 hours...but hey maybe a little fun too!
Join in if you are up for a challenge.

For the '5-minute' people, you also have to include any bedroom activities before you go to sleep.

You might want to let your husband/wife know about the challenge beforehand.

You need to invent an auto-shot head cam ... that would be sure to get exciting results ... especially after my work made me take it off and put it in the closet ;P

What should we keep the image posting to? 10 fav pics from the challenge - Otherwise the editing and posting could get out of hand!

It´s a huge work! But it will need to be pictures of the same subject? If it you cam use a remote control with timer to this function and does your busines. I had done thi before, with beams to get germination process in all details. First day 1 picture per minute. Second 1 to each 5 min. Third 1 to each 15 minutes.

Case it´s not to be the same subject, you simply can´t do it out of a trip. The shooting will need a them or will be only a huge set of picture, not a project.
