Figured I'd not send this one in.. as most shots of guns seem to do rather badly.. Too dark a subject I reckon. "Spring Loaded"

and this one because it just screams, Too snapshotty - 3 (ala GeneralIE) "Clip art"

Clip Art is not a snapshot. Put your coffee cup and someone's hand in there and you might get closer. If these are your rejects I will start worrying.

well, thank you kindly, G!
I hope your right... I went an entirely different direction and figure I'll pay for it too. <>

I like the clip art one, very imaginative. It looks better as a thumbnail for some reason.
Maybe a swirly colorful background and back off a bit.

Why can't people wait til after the challenge starts to post this stuff? Ever consider you may have had a similar idea to someone else and now they will feel that they can't enter their photo.

Maybe these ideas will spur someone's imagination?

Gee sorry,, didn't mean to make anyone feel like they couldn't enter a shot because of this....

I don't think you should not put up a shot because this has been done.

I'll wait until challenges start after this.

it happened to me in the past were a shot was posted similar to what I was working on.

Most people wait to show what they didn't enter til after voting starts for that reason.

Actually, it bothers me that people post their out-takes during the voting. Many people's out-takes are better than some entries, and serve to divert attention away from the challenge photos themselves. I think all the "would this have done better" and similar things are properly initiated after the challenge is over, inviting comparison with the results.

I often avoid the threads on challenge ideas for the same reason; people often feel pre-empted when someone else posts their idea in a thread.

I have also noticed that some people that post their "did not enter this one shots," and comments will come back like this " I personally like the one you chose to submit", now how would someone know what they submitted when the challenge is not over. I thought all pictures were anonymous until after the challenge.?

I usually don't read these types of threads for the reasone GeneralE stated, but the flip side of it is a positive.

If I have an idea or picture, an I think it is creative and good, then I see it in a thread, I still have time to come up with something else to improve it with. Just a thought.

If your talking about the thread on "Surogate Mother" (the pepper and baby tomatos), that challenge is over now.

I'm generally in the "wait till the challenge is over" camp too, but gave up worrying about it.
