arghhh my baby, shes not right.
The scroll wheel that allows changing of settings etc is not working properly. As you'd expect, normally a scroll to the left changes settings in one direction, a scroll to the right changes them in the other, but now oth directions change in one way only, eg which ever way I turn the wheel, the shutter speed just gets slower and slower and the aperture lower and lower with no way to go back the other way!!!!
Anyone else come across this before???
And of course 12month warranty ran out end of december. I don't even know how to go about repair, do I send to canon?

PS its not been dropped or bashed, no water ingress or obvious causes.

OK this is crazy.
Silly me remembered that the BGE3 grip has a scroll wheel of its own which I hadn't checked (thus allowing me to rule in or out the actual wheel or software) I tried it and it worked fine, then I tried the main wheel, and it worked fine too!! No sign of the problem at all!!!!!!
ARGHhhhh frustrating but glad it apears to have disapeared. |

:) Glad you figured it out.
My 20D had a fit today. It had a 50mm 1.8 lens on it, but was reading F0.0! No matter what I did. Would still shoot, overexposed everything. I swapped lenses, same problem. Changed batteries, still same. Cleaned lens contacts - nothing. Cleaned contacts again - nothing. Was really frustrated as I was out with Taylor and she was using that one so she was frustrated. Finally cleaned the contacts one more time while we were eating lunch and it came right back to life. Cameras can be really finicky! :)

I know, I was almost rich & famous for a few minutes - if I could only make the lens do that on purpose I'd sell rights to the secret! lol
