I have been asked to shoot an upcomming horse show. The eventers expect a lot of usual action photos, but I'd rather do the behind the scenes human element stuff. Anyway, I do not have a web site, as I am a "newbie". Can anyone recommend one of the "event"websites for me to post photos on? I've seen a few and would appreciate any feedback on experiences with whichever one they've used. I need a place to post photos and, hopefully, someone will order from. I do not have a website.

Smugmug (referral link/with $5.00 off) They have 1PB or 1,000 TB bandwidth a month. You can assign passwords to each event gallery.

If you want a free service, I have used PhotoReflect - they have an okay website for you and your clients can order directly, nice prints. But for an annual fee Smugmug does great, lets you customize your site all you want, use your own domain name, unlimited uploading and great print services - if you use the pro service you set your own prices and profit margin.

Forgot to mention that Pro will allow you to change prices for each print.

This photographer: Shanny
just did a shoot at a horse show... you might look through her port to get some ideas :)

I have a free site at ecrater.com but I have to process the orders myself. Doesn't take that much to do but the setup of the site itself can be a bit confusing :)

i've used both photoreflect and smugmug, and, for the time being, smugmug wins hands down.
