In a new online art magazine, there is an interview with a photographer called Emese Gaal.
In the interview, she talks about the music that is captured within her photos, which is quite interesting as when I look at her photos, I'm reminded of Kandinsky's artwork. Anyone who knows about Kandinsky knows that he had quite sophisticated ideas about representing sound and music through abstract art, which is something I can see in Gaal's photos.
I thought I should post a link to these photos here, as I get the feeling that DPC needs more in the way of abstract, creative photography. I wonder how these abstract photos would do in our challenges?!

The link to the magazine article is here.

The link to the photos in question is here.

Her stunning photo blog is here. There's lots of more traditional images here which show she really has mastered the art of photography.

She's already a member. I remember talking to her a while back when we both entered the canon forum photo contests. I seem to remember she stopped entering because of the editing restrictions.

Well, that almost makes me quite angry.
Can we PLEASE lift the editing restrictions!
I wonder how many excellent photographers have left DPC because of this issue. I suspect quite a few.
What a loss that she's no longer part of this community.

Very nice, thank you for pointing out the links.
Love those colours.
Your right very much has a feel for Kandinsky.

Too bad she's no longer on this site.

Quite a few that I'm aware of personally and several that I tried to encourage to join but found the restrictions laughable.

Lately I've found that I'm not entering much, as much for the fact that I'm really not happy enough with my non-edited output to get excited about sharing it. That, and I've really had no time. Still, we're driving the best photographers away (not saying me personally, I'm far from good) with these rules.
