Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4.0 Aspherical DG for Canon
I'm looking to replace this lens with something a bit better. I'm not totally satisfied with it on the wide end (a bit soft). I want something fast, sharp and about the same range of focal length (preferably wider on the wide end, if available).

A new car! But if you're set on replacing it with another lens, I think the Canon 24-105mm f/4 IS lens is an excellent choice, if you can find it at a good price. The Canon 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS is also a pretty sweet lens at a good price -- it stays on my camera most of the time. And it seems like everyone who owns the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di lens just can't say enough good things about it.

I won't bore you with why, but yesterday I tested and compared my Tamron 28-75 with my buddy's Canon 17-40mm L. Last night I reviewed them. Aside from the obvious differences in range, the Tamron looks equally as sharp and the color is even a tad better. I love this Tamron lens.
