I have been considering to start selling pictures on micro and/or macro sites... But I don`t really know how all the "paying", taxes and releases are...
So if they pay by check, I can change it in any bank here in Mexico?
Should I have to pay taxes (here or in any country) for the money I make?
Can you sell an "exclusive" picture in diferent countries?

I think thats all, I`ll apreciate if anyone can "guide me" trough the process :D

Thanks!

I use Paypal, that way I have no worries of lost cheques and transferring cheques or mistakes on them.

I can't receive money through Paypal as that option isn't available in all countries, but have recently started getting it through Moneybookers - again as Judi says, it is safer than cheques in the mail.

If you make money selling your images, tax will come into it. Things differ from one country to another so you will have to find the right person to tell you how that works in your country.

If a picture is exclusive, it means you can only sell it at one site, not at different sites in different countries. I don't recommend exclusivity though because different images do well on different sites and there's no way of knowing for sure which one will do well where. Try a few sites and see what works for you.

If you're in Mexico, you could use paypal. It's not only safer, but for shutterstock the minimum payment amount also differs between paypal ($75) and a check ($300). Surely something to keep in mind if you don't sell that much.

If you still have to start ... maybe my article about those sites can be interesting to you
