When I saw this I read it as scones and s'mores (those chocolate, marshmallow, graham cracker things) - now I have to go out for lunch and have a chocolate fix. |

If the DNMC comments disappeared, I think it was whiterock having a change of heart. So give him props for rethinking what was a pretty unpopular opinion.

Learning the hard reality of studio shots. My first effort, even though my "studio" is a ping pong table with some desk lamps. It's not so easy as many on this site make it look!
Anyway - good learning experience.

I love Avocados! But it's a very recent thing... since I moved to California really. They are ever so popular here and I kind of kept getting forced into eating them and now I get cravings... uuuhh oh.
They do get disgusting if you let them sit around too long. Although that could have been interesting too! But may be only to me... |

It's gone up a little more, hopefully it stays that way. I don't understand why I am not getting any comments, I guess the photo sucks like it usually does in these challenges compared to all the talented people here, oh well I can't learn from it if nobody comments on it.

Here's a tip if you're making gaucamole, sqeeze some lemon juice in it and it won't brown as fast. |

And leave the avacado pit in the gaucamole. That helps with the anti-browning too.

Wow, tough crowd! I think this is my best entry yet, I'm still really happy with it, even if it never gets above 5.6. Both the comments are "wow, 10!" type comments.
Oh, well, every entry in the past few weeks has started the week at 5.5, then finished the week around 6. We'll see what happens with this one. |

generally what dpc considers "average" ususally doesnt get dumped with comments. Usually its the brown and the blue of the bunch |

I think I'd really like to know what makes the difference between a shot I think is awesome, and one that scores well!
Maybe part of it is presenting material that is specific to what the audience (DPC) is looking for as the "ideal", but although I "get" the rules and how to follow them, my execution of the subject matter must need a bit of refinement to truly start scoring well.
The highest I've ever scored was 6.3203 and although I think my current fruit/veggie submission is better than my high scoring shot, it's running way low in comparison. I guess after the voting is all done I'll know more, right?

Started off in the mid 5's for the firs 12 hours and I was very disappointed...I put a lot of effort into my image...things are coming around today

Maybe I have left the doc behind and now I am dancing with preacherman again. I didnt put alot of effort into my image but I was hoping for at least a 6.3. The week is young. |
