one of my good friends, whom is completly 100% photogenic
has really oily skin that when i take a flash photo takes away from her beauty

is there anything on photoshop elements that i could use to help make her look amazing?

Smack a little powder on her face before your start snapping photos... That should do the trick.

This tutorial might help you, but not sure how Elements-friendly it is, I've never used Elements. But seriously, there isn't a quick fix, its something easily fixable before you shoot - powder, softer light, side lighting, etc... but after.... gonna take some work.

If it's just a couple of spots, then you might be able to get away with some healing and/or cloning. But if it's an all over sort of oily then that'll take a bit more work. Got any examples you can show us?

Smack a little powder on your monitor that'll do the trick.

Absolutely incredible tutorial, especially this part - Using the original skin pores and texture to add realiam back into a smoothed picture:

Thanks for the heads up on this one, Cindi!

probably the best tutorial I've read online in ages. The shadow and highlight technique he used changed my editing life!! Can't believe I didn't know that trick.... but now I do.... so look out! ;)

Yea, this was a *really* useful tut!
I used it to do this light-handed edit of my wife

And then I used it to do this heavy-handed edit

Some difference!

By the way... I am just learning these techniques. And I also used Cindi's Eye-pimping technique.

Sorry abt the hijack Kim...
