I've had the same problem lately. I find it helps a bit to look at other photographers work and try to get inspired.

Sounds odd. I don't think anyone here has ever run into that issue before. LOL

Sorry, just being sarcastic since that comes up at least once or twice a week. In fact, I don't think anyone has never experienced at one time or another. You can search the forums a bit the find other threads with lots of great advice. I would just say take a break and find something else to occupy your time until the creativity naturally comes back.

I'm sure you'll get other, more helpful advice here though. Best of luck, don't let it get ya down.

My recommendation for you is to find something that you get really excited about...an event, a person, or a favorite thing? Look for the connection...and the creativity will not be too far behind!!!

I look forward to seeing your terrific photos in the near future!

I just joined the 30-day-"where you live" challenge....I am seeing things around me in a whole new light. Just forcing myself to take photos every day and so "normal" I don't really "see" any more.

Get out there and shoot, try something you haven't done before (macros if you are not usually into that kind of thing, portraits if you are normally a landscape kinda person or vice versa......

i am somewhat bipolar. I've found when the mania and depression are the most intense i am extremely creative. Lately i have felt more centered but much less creative. People in my life don't understand why i'm reluctant to take medication to help even out the bipolar mood swings. They also have no idea how important creativity is to an artist. It's enough to make you crazy.

This is a good idea for you to try..... Go outside and look in ones own backyard and start there.
Take photos of everyday things, and hopefully your spirit will return.

One thing, try and remain positive, and not negitive, as you will never really get anywhere with hegitive thoughts in your mind.

Life is wonderful, go out and experience it.....

I cannot understand where your creativity comes out better when you are not on your meds, I have heard that from lots of other people. But be careful with that. Good luck.

Read some of Freeman Patterson's books, especially Photography and the Art of Seeing: A Visual Perception Workshop for Film and Digital Photography (Paperback)

I am also participating in the 30 day where I live challenge and I am THRILLED with the injection of creativity I'm having.

I've been driving around all over the place locally letting myself really think outside the box and I LOVE what's sprung out of me.

Because it's not a challenge (as in being voted on), I'm way less self conscious and trying things I LIKE as opposed to coming up with images I think other people will vote higher than 5 on - GRIN!

It's such a friendly self-impossed challenge, where I'm getting heaps of comments and feedback!

Perhaps give yourself a challenge.

Start with the alphabet and promise yourself to take at least one photo a day with each consecutive letter of the alphabet - hey that's a great idea for another side challenge!

Hope this passes soon.

I think that you should try taking photos of brightly colored snowcones.

Tee hee. No, you are in good company! This has happened to me so many times. I used to get depressed and would start thinking I was wasting my time pursuing something I obviously wasn't very good at. But every time it would come back and I'd get on a role and get passionate again. Now, I don't worry about it, I just give myself permission to go easy and not worry about it until something inspires me again. . .because it will. I promise!
