What is the best hotel in vegas and why?
Had a bad experience at the MGM Grand, just want a better hotel next time I go.

Can't help ya there. It's been a LONG time... Back in the day we used Circus Circus, but we had kids... Is Circus Circus even still there? Luxor is way cool as far as the interior spaces are concerned, but even that may have been eclipsed (probably has been) since last I was in Vegas. So the answer is, "I know nothing, ma'am!"

I LOVED the Luxor, great entertainment in the hotel, really cool looking spaces (including the rooms), and friendly staff. Besides, its a pyramid with incline elevators! That's cool! :)

Some of the rooms of Wynn's you can see down the whole strip. Rooms are really nice. Awesome photo ops especially at night. My brother and his then fiancee stayed there and room was sweet.

Stayed at Harrah's before. Cheaper, but potentially really noisy. Request the side that doesn't have the nightly music. I believe it goes to about 3:00 am. Ok for the budget. We wanted something in the center of the strip and had a covered parking garage.LV strip Hotel Map.

The nice thing about Circus Circus is that if you go there to register a room and they're already fully booked, they'll book you at another hotel at their prices (which were lower than most).

At least this was the case when we were there years ago. I don't know if that's still the case or not, but they booked us at a nicer hotel at their lower rates!

I was at the Venetian last September and it was truly 5*

Also stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel and it beat that place hands down

from experience, the Monte Carlo is definitely 5*, as is the Venitian. THe Saraha will do if yo're looking for cheap. It's a hike, though, because it's at the other end of the Strip.

We lived in Laughlin for years, and when we drove to Vegas.. we never stayed on the Strip...we always went Downtown to the Golden Gate...from there you can walk Fremont... walk to a PCL Ballgame...see a Movie... just about anything you wanna do...and believe me it is better to stay off the Strip.

I stayed at one of the less exotic hotels off the main strip. I really had no interest in Las Vegas (not being a gambler), but I went there before my Grand Canyon North Rim trip in 2000 and found it to be fascinating. I think I'd want to stay at the Luxor if I went there again.

Wow. I have sticker shock. Hotels and airfares have gone up alot lately. Long gone are the days of cheap flights and hotels to vegas.

Yeah sure, you can get semi-cheap rooms with run-down uncomfortable beds etc. But that is not what I want.

Venetian & Monte Carlos rooms are 249.00 some nites (weekends). Wynn is really out of my price range.

Mirage is nice....also pricey. Treasure Island sounded good, until I read they close the pool at 4pm.

If your worried about prices, try to find a time when there aren't conventions/big events. Hotels jack up the prices when they know people are flocking in for these events. Weeknights are cheaper too if that's an option.

I spent two weeks at Mandalay Bay while in Vegas on business. It was more like going as a tourist, since we were waiting on a trailer to get shipped from Los Angeles and it got "lost" in the port somewhere. We'd call every morning to see if it had left, and when they said "No", we knew we had the whole day to kill. I have to say that I got treated like a king my whole visit. They have great pools and a very nice spa.

Not too sure about prices though. I do know I get yelled at by my boss over my expense report, so it must have been a doozie.

The Rio because of the Penn and Teller Show. Also best food and casino with a Mardi gra show twice a day with beads and everything. Just a great time.

The Mandalay Bay is great - the pool, wave machine, and restaurants are all great - lot to do there.

mandalay bay rocks!!! but its the first hotel on the strip so plan on walking a ways or paying wayyy to much for a cab ride.

Excalibur sucks, Luxor is nice. Caesars is awesome..Bellagio is nice but is full of senior citizens.
