Well ... I was just saying that this Canadian in Belgium is not doing so good as that Canadian (Karen) in Newfoundland.
But as I said ... I am pretty happy. If I can hold the 6 then I will have had my only two over 6.0s so far (not counting my DQ) ... heh

| oh, that 6.0075 looked so good for awhile....about 6 hours.....back down to 5.97.....still my happy with my first attempt at this style of photo. |

i can understand this argument. . .but the point of the challenge isn't just to convince people that you did the challenge. the point, as far as i see it, is to challenge yourself to think about these "themes" in a creative way.
to me, not every table is the same and not everybody approaches a table in the same way.
the very MINIMAL thing you can do in this case is put the camera on a table and be careful to show the table.
the very BEST thing you can do, after that, is figure out how to make the table, or the subject, or the perspective look spectacular.
if voters are slapping people with DNMC low scores just because they aren't entirely convinced the camera is on the table. . .then i think this whole challenge was a waste.
i've seen some crazy creative stuff for this challenge and i'd hate to see them scored low on a technicality that can't be argued convincingly.

AS you said Nadia "the very MINIMAL thing you can do in this case is put the camera on a table and be careful to show the table." My 'Minimal Meet the Challenges' all get a 5 and then it's uphill from that point :-)....

i guess my issue is that you can NEVER be 100% that the camera is on the table.
any one of the entries (discounting ones that are obviously NOT on a table) could have cheated the effect using a table-top tripod or some books or whatever else they had on hand.
it just seems like you could disqualify almost all of them based on that logic.
the good news is that if we all get fives then nobody wins and nobody really loses.

| Just to add my 2 cents- not all cameras are built equal, so even if you put your big DSLR on a table, the point of view may be drastically different from a small point and shoot's. So -just think twice before DNMCing anybody's photo. |

Hoo boy...angry, angry, angry... I'm trying to say that in this challenge, my lowest votes have been 5's, I haven't DNMC'd anyone, and the votes go upwards from 5 to a whole host of really good entries...
My score is slipping badly as of 2 hours ago: it's been a healthy one all week, and my image clearing includes the table...
You know what: if you like an image give it a 10 if you don't like it, give it a 3 and just go with immediate response. Be true to yourself and have fun.

Does this look like it's going to be a Girl Challenge? Seems as if a lot of feminine energy has gone into this particular one, and the girls are doing well it seems?

not all girls:) only Karen has posted a score higher than mine (and that was close) but mine has been falling and the 4 or so of you that are hiding yours could get me. i expect top 20 with my score but you never know. Yakatme i'm sure thought he was golden with his 7.8 in wildlife only to finish 3rd:)
